I'm picturing myself making the 30 mile round trip on my bicycle to the grocery store with a backpack carrying a single bag of groceries. No public transportation out here in the boonies. I guess we rural dwellers are obsolete. So is our federal government.

Yeah, that is what they want. There are some areas in the west IIRC that are today making it hard for someone to re-plat or build a second house on a large piece of rural land, all in keeping with the UN's Agenda 21 which calls for the average person to be urbanized.

I got a better idea. Americans should stop electing Leftist idiots like Buttigieg so they never have to worry about gas prices again.

    Wifey wants something electric ...

I'm too much of a gearhead ... big ass diesel truck, Porsche and a badass 78 Chevy Malibu that I've been taking to the drag strip for close to 30 years ... but I've seen Teslas pull faster ETs than my Chevy ...

how does Butter-gig plan on maintaining roads? What about the folks employed in the fossil-fuel industry? How do folks boat or travel cross-country?

Oh I see, no longer allowed

Don't you just love what Democrat voters brought upon this nation?

Buttigieg was not elected. He was appointed by Biden to his position.

100% torque the moment you hit the throttle. Run the 1/4 and you will run them down. If you can't, add more spray

There is a charging station at a local hotel about 5 miles from where I live. I presume for hotel guests only. But I have never seen a single car being charged there. In West VA, I believe most of the electricity is generated using coal. So the charging station would be powered by coal. There are some wind towers along mountain ridges in central WV destroying what would otherwise be a scenic view.

True. The torque curve for electric motors runs in the opposite direction as that of gasoline engines Maximum torque is at zero rpm with electric motors.

I predict that Buttgig is the Dem heir apparent to Biden and will likely be nominated by Dems to run for President in the next election. Biden is too senile and Harris to unpopular to run. Biden will be able to buy influence with infrastructure money and of course running him will be very stylish.

I mean, we all knew that though. I'll praise the adviser for having the courage to be a Democrat with a still thinking mind. That's a rare(impossible) breed to be these days.

If you think about it Butti’s only claim to leftist fame is being a gay mayor in a crime ridden city.

I don't like the use of nitrous and won't race against on unless I make the bracket ... I have a supercharged LS3 and will go against anything supercharged, turbo, procharged or blower ... call me old school ...

Yes, we all know that, and Biden is a Leftist idiot like Buttigeig, and when you elect a Leftist idiot like Biden you're also electing all the Leftist idiots he is going to surround himself with, such as Buttigeig.

What makes that even more relevant today are the questions surrounding whether or not Potemkin President Biden is actually running the country or if he's just a front man who gets trotted out in front of the media to play president by the people who are really running the country.

I like the idea of Hybrids better than Full! Electric vehicles. Seems to be a happy balance of Fossil and Electric capabilities and you won't be 100% reliant on either.

Until the U.S.A. stabilizes our Energy policy, the Hybrid is the smart choice. I think the electric cars are pretty awesome... but they have too many concerns for me at this time.

250 miles one way to a decent grocery store.. I won't be using a glorified golf cart.. may have to find something else to burn if it get's bad.. maybe propane, maybe recycled grease, maybe I'll just eat beans and run it off the methane produced.

It's definitely not for everyone, but when the price comes down, it will be perfect for my husband and I. We both work from home, so we only need to fill our gas tank about every two weeks. We get just under 400 miles in a tank.

It's terrible for people in rural areas, but great for people in the cities.

I wish both teams would quit pretending there is a one size fits all solution. We need a blended solution.

Nuclear waste is a massive problem to which we still not found a sound solution. And then there is Fukushima and Chernobyl, Lovely place to visit.. Usually have the place all to yourself if you visit!

And there is 280 million cars in the US alone. Imagine now all those batteries out there. The current environmental impact of batteries have on the planet today is disgusting.. Just imagine when there is 280 million large cell Lithium batteries out there?

And lastly, there is one country that would benefit EXPONENTIALLY to us moving to an all electric society!!
