    Not just beat up on. Notice from across the street who he was because he was just SOOOOOO famous and important to a show they were just SOOOOOOO knowledgeable of then cross the street to attack him and make specific mention they were doing so because of 1 the tv show and 2 that he was black and gay.

    It literally reads like a bad tv script.

    Well in the end, the sentencing will be based upon the judge, and here I disagree, I'm thinking 6m - 1y, due to the publicity he stirred up, and the level of effort to find his attackers.

    He’ll get public service and that’s it. But his service should be cleaning the bathrooms and Porto-johns at MAGA rallies. And he should wear a sign saying ‘I Am A Racist.’

    I want to bare in mind something political though: This hoax never happens, if Democrats hadn't been screaming to the hill "ZOMG, HATE CRIME INCREASES" despite the FBI saying numerous times(before trying to curry favor and somewhat changing their definition to better fit the narrative): "No, we're just reporting more frequently, the actual statistical change is nominal."

    I am just going by the Cook County Jail overcrowding scenario.

    You really have to do something really bad (or be a repeat offender) even to get 30 days.
    And, this opinion from legal experts.

    A class 4 felony, the crime carries a sentence of up to three years in prison. However, experts have said it is more likely that if Smollett is convicted he would be placed on probation and perhaps ordered to perform community service.

    I guess we will find out together.

    Jail would be better, and more deserved. But community service / probation would be acceptable to me.

    I'm just glad he is being prosecuted considering the local idiot refused to.

    There were alot of people in that thread who genuinely believed this hoax.

    It was blatantly obvious it was a lie, but some people just really wanted it to be true. They were desperate for it to be true.

    What did that judge say when sentencing the 1/6 guy, was it something like examples need to be made?

    We have too many racist race hoaxes and they need to stop. This racist received world wide attention with a hoax designed to make people like you and me appear to be racists, something the left is all too willing to believe with no proof at all. This guy needs to hurt, hurt badly and his pain should be made known in every blue city, every ghetto, every tenement, evenly housing project and every college campus.
