but then the liability turns to the last person to touch the gun vs the person they hired to make sure it was safe

So how did having experts in charge work out in this case?

the expert was not doing their job sounds like

It does not take an expert to inspect a firearm before pointing and discharging. A child with minimal firearm safety knowledge would not do what Baldwin and the experts did. Baldwin spoke out against the group that provides such knowledge.

While guns may come with a "Safety" I am the "Safety"
If an expert hands me an unloaded gun, I become the expert.

Is that a problem? See what happens when that is not done?

And we all know there is no such thing as an unloaded gun.

if you hire someone to make sure a gun is safe, it should be safe

There is more to the job than that. They have to make sure the right guns and ammunition are available and to keep the guns clean and in operating order.

No. We just need idiots like Alec Baldwin to get trained by the NRA.

happens all the time, according to experienced law enforcement professionals. the phenomenon is usually described as "the gun just went off."

try your search engine on "deputy gun just went off" and see how many hundreds of hits you get.

i post on this every year or so. it happens too often to post every time. someone, usually the cop's wife, always gets killed, and charges are never filed.

That is called negligent discharge. What Baldwin did... precisely.

    1) He was in a place and dressed a certain way, ergo he was begging for the felony committed against his person. Its an apt comparison given your statement.
    2) So go watch the trial again or for the first time. Both prosecution and defense agree the altercation with rosenbaum (the pedo. dead guy number 1) starts when rittenhouse shows up to put out a fire in a duramax truck that rosenbaum had either started prior to his ambush (defense)or was simply loitering about in the shadows nearby after having started it as one does when one is doing nothing wrong (prosecution).

Because its a firearm and firearms are dangerous things one does not **** about with lightly.
If you're going to point a gun and shoot at someone for a good shot, violating every rule of gun safety for a cool camera angle, the least you can do is check the gun yourself.

To anyone claiming he had no responsibility because an "armorer" (that girl had no business even having that title) handed off the gun to him, that is a laughable defense. The second a weapon is placed in your hands, that gun is now your responsibility. Should have checked it himself before he pointed it at people.

Even rabid anti-gunner George Clooney had the good sense to recognize this.

That's easily the most basic firearm rule of all. Who am I kidding though? The people that preach against weapons have never touched one in their entire lives. They have zero knowledge of firearms. They just know they are bad, look scary and go "boom".

The fact that that pink-haired idiot was given the job title "armorer" is even more maddening. I smell "diversity" hire there. Just put her in the cockpit of a 737 why don't you?

Actually her daddy is a famous armorer. Just your basic nepotism without real training to back it up
