I've been hooked on Amazon for quite awhile now.
However, I'm thinking about leaving it.
I placed an order the other day only to receive a curt notice that it was "undeliverable" and my money would be refunded.
I live in the middle of Houston. It's not like they had to deliver the order to Hill 937 in the A Sầu valley.

I did not cancel this order, Amazon canceled the order.
I suppose they think I'll just resubmit it.
    I won't.

I just rescheduled a similar order with Walmart.
I'll be attempting to use Walmart for future orders as much as possible now that Amazon and their bogus contract delivery services business model rolls onto whatever it is on it's way to growing up to be. Logically they will roll out full shipping services it seems to me.

In any case, I'll not accept Amazon's complete lack of accountability for completing my orders or providing an easy to access interface for customer feedback on their services.

Someone at Amazon should have explained the difficulty. There's probably a good reason with all these supply line difficulties, but they should have explained it to you. It great that you have alternatives... ain't capitalism GRAND!!

I spend way too much time and money on Amazon, but the lack of purchasing options in local stores for certain things (I take a number of supplements for medical issues) is nonexistent. I can usually find it at Amazon, though it may not be the cheapest on all things, it is quite often.

It seems if you do a search for the item you are looking for, you'll find other sources. WalMart is also not always the cheapest. Personally, they are last choice for most things for us, online or in brick and mortar. We buy staples there - TP, household stuff. Fresh food is purchased elsewhere.

You seem to attribute this to a supply chain issue, which it of course technically is, but not from far away and over the hills, and over the oceans. Nope, this is due to Amazon's fledgling delivery service I'm about 100% sure....

My wife has become an Amazon junkie. We have Amazon TV (which I like), and my wife always assures that what we order is "Amazon Prime" for free shipping. We've never had a problem but with EVERYONE having supply issues... its not surprising. My only problem with Amazon is that its so easy to shop, we spend more than we used to.

For me to go shopping I have to ride my electric scooter to my car which is parked outside under cover, open the tailgate and lower the interior mounted electric chair lift to the outside ground level. Then ride the the scooter onto the platform, lift the whole assembly into the rear of the car and close the trunk. Once I arrive at the store I reverse everything, do my shopping. At that point I'm half way finished with my shopping because I have to do it all again to go home. I love Amazon!!

“Undeliverable” sounds like Amazon speak for “We lost it and we are out”. But yeah, “Undeliverable” sound ominous. Sprinklers, mad dogs, zombies.
If you expect too much, you inevitably get disappointed.
There delivery fleet does a good job where I live.

Maybe the driver to that area has been fired due to not being vaccinated?

We use Walmart grocery pick up a lot and like it. They always substitute in your favor, and they go though outs and substitutions you can reject it before he puts it in your trunk. Customer (phone) service aims to please. Easy, peasy.

That happened to me once pre-Amazon delivery vans but I forget the details. I generally try to avoid Amazon anyway because they are the devil, but I broke down and ordered something from them several weeks ago I couldn't find cheaper anywhere else---an outside heating pad for an old neighborhood cat that camps out at my house but doesn't like to come inside. I live in nowhere special and their delivery van delivered it about 6pm on a Sunday, 4 days ahead of schedule, and tracking indicated it was being delivered on the last leg from an adjoining state. Unless there is some issue with their service in Houston, I doubt that was the reason. I was pleasantly surprised, but the cat I got it for was even happier as it ended up being nasty cold that very night it was delivered.

yeah, we do have a special issue here. I live in a gated condo complex and the gate code is not kind to deliveries. It’s ridiculous on several layers.

Your HOA should hire some Karen from the Condos to sit at the gate in a golf cart and accept packages LOL. I have a UPS due tomorrow per tracking several days early too. Normally I would use this to illustrate my packages are coming sooner rather than delayed as everybody is talking about but they gave me a ridiculously long delivery date from Overstock to begin with on this one. It is being shipped UPS freight which I surely hope a semi isn't going to be showing up in front of the house to drop off a freaking bedspread.

We have almost no issues with Amazon. We get a late delivery approximately once each year.

I recently ordered a meat grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aid. I ordered it at 10 a.m. and had it by 5, the same day.

overall, we are super pleased with AZ. Whenever possible, we buy from independent sellers.

With a company as big as Amazon, they have standardized responses. They aren't making individual phone calls for every undeliverable order.

Amazon provides a great service, in my experience. I like that they pay their workers well and have very good 'break' policies. Compared to Walmart its a no brainer.

Like I said, I've been hooked on them for awhile. I bought the Microsoft MCSE bookset from them back in '98 at about half the retail price I could find anywhere else. Then Prime came along, delivering stuff 2 days from my mouse click: game changer. This was the first time I've had Amazon simply cancel any of my orders and I've bought hundreds of items from them over the past 20 years. They didn't reschedule the order for delivery, nope. They just cancelled it and refunded my money. A first. Hence this thread.

Regarding their very good break policies, eh? That's not quite the buzz I've seen.....
