The PDF does not say that this is a record high. It only mentions 2 other years. The previous year only had 2 cop shootings over this one. Hardly statistically significant. But, hey, this thread isn't about logic and reason. It's about how to figure out how to dance on the graves of dead cops to make Biden look bad.

I doubt the OP is going to want to cover the fact that, according to the FBI, right wingers have been killing more cops than left wingers. That would be bad for the agenda.

Crime is surging in urban areas across the nation. Its prolly due to a lot of factors, but defunding the police and not keeping violent criminals locked up are certainly contributors.

Even where I live in rural WA the local jails are turning away criminals for all but the most serious crimes, claiming covid concerns. Thankfully we've never had a big problem with violence and we still dont. Theres been a single shooting in my town in the last ten years, and it was between an illegal immigrant out-of-towner vs the cops who showed up to respond to his road rage incident. But this was a few years ago.

Can you provide the source for this supposed FBI data? Im interested to see how exactly they determine 'right wingers' from 'left wingers', given their blatant political bias as of late.

 

Crime is surging? So far this just looks like a minor uptick in the decline in violent crime that has been going on since the early 90s.

I already listed what I think are the main contributors- defunded police and criminals not being locked up.

It seems particularly relevant that 'ambush attacks' on LE are double from last year, and account for more than half of the deaths. Thats not an insignifigant thing.

 

I'd need actual evidence before attributing a cause. I mean, just looking at a graph, that is a GIGANTIC leap to jump to a conclusion. There were 408 ambushes on US law enforcement in 1990, compared to 95 this year. 526 in 1991. 474 in 1992. I can keep going, but if the numbers you and @SouthernFried87 are giving are correct, then this year is only "record setting" in that it is one of the lowest instances we've had in 2 decades.

The FBI also says that more officers have been murdered by right wing extremists than by left wing extremists. Trying to pin this on anyone who criticizes the police is just shamefully false.
