So help me out then. The most 'low class' people (uneducated, rough, criminal, etc etc) live in public housing towers all over the world - yet you're trying to say that those in New York are so bad that they can't even be considered functioning adults?

I presume you are only referring to majority white English-speaking or European countries or Chinese/Japanese/Korean societies, and also some Muslim countries (but that is for a different reason).

Sorry, the world is complicated, crank.

You are obviously not from a big city part of the US, that is for sure.

More public housing. Which houses low income tenants.

    You're still not proving anything.

Yes, we know that some public housing buildings for low income people have balconies, especially in some parts of the world.

I'm just telling you there are special issues in certain areas with certain groups of people.

And several disadvantages balconies may have from a design point of view when it comes to smaller apartments, even if some builders decide those disadvantages don't matter too much.

Many people in big US cities view the low income population kind of like animals, who cannot be trusted to be responsible.

That's a complicated discussion we would probably have to have a separate thread about.

And more than "why", what are these low income people doing (in NYC) that low income people in other places aren't doing - that it's so bad they can't be trusted in a freaking ordinary building?

    LOL
I would love to get into that with you.

To understand this is to understand half of America's politics and political ideological views, why the American Right wing conservatives take the views they do, why the politicians on the American Left takes the views they do.
Why American middle class neighborhoods fear low income housing appearing anywhere near them.

Can you imagine 15 and 16 year olds dropping cinder blocks on pedestrians down below and thinking it's all "good sport" and fun and games?

No, because obviously where you live something like that is unimaginable.

Well I'm definitely proving that low income people are trusted to behave like adults everywhere but NYC.

So now it's your turn to explain what's so special about NYers.

How complicated? If your theory is right (about the lack of balconies), the people in question would literally have to be officially classified as retarded. Developmentally disabled. It makes no sense, IOW.

    LOL

That's a touchy subject in the US.

If you actually gave IQ tests to many of these tennants...

    Of course it doesn't.

    Not where you live.

Let me guess? 90+% white, probably rural area?

    Am I right?

crank, how much have you actually read about crime issues in New York?

Did you ever read that story about a group of teens who went out beating random people with metal pipes for "good sport" in Central Park? knocking several unconscious with severe injuries. was just a fun game to them.

And you think there wouldn't be any problems with balconies...

Anyway, I don't mean to get off topic. There are several issues that don't have to do with the quality of tennants and only have to do with design issues.

Low income households are also likelier to have more people, be home more often, and use the outside grill to cook more often. Not good from the point of view of smoke disturbing other tennants.

These people don't follow the rules and it's not so easy to tell them they just can't have a barbeque.

I bet it was stupid and irresponsible tennants.

Maybe even tried to set up a barbeque grill inside (wouldn't that be ironic?)

Maybe it was a freak electrical fire like Notre Dame... No. These types of fires are man made.
