What You Want to See from Governing Entities Regarding COVID-19

Seems like a pretty reasonable request. And personally, I think politicians ought to always tell the truth. Lol... but then they wouldn't be politicians. That said, are there any facts in particular you feel aren't getting out into the public or that are not being explained accurately enough? Also, I agree there's no one single magic solution here; its likely going to take tackling the issue from a number of different angles to really improve things; An all of the above approach, as you put it. Beyond politicians and medical officials being honest with the public, are there any other specific steps you think should be included within that 'all of the above'?

Those are good points. But if not the honor system... then what? I just think its important that we're clear about what we're talking about here. Are we talking, a 5-7 day isolation mandate similar to what another poster mentioned?... With fines and or jail time for those who violate it? And if so, what if anything should governments do to accommodate that? For folks who lived in homes alongside a lot of other people, would anything be done to facilitate their isolation, would there be repercussions if they failed to isolate from their own family members, or would we just sort of accept that they'd be around one another and just try to prevent them from interacting with folks outside their own place of residence?? Also... how would the whole city/city block quarantine thing work?

So, basically the following, right?

-Prohibit both private and public employers from mandating/requiring Covid-19 vaccines for their employees
-Prohibit schools from requiring Covid-19 vaccines for students
-Mandate school districts to remove any and all masking requirements
-Mandate that schools do not quarantine healthy students​

Hmm, that makes sense I think. So you're basically suggesting here that the vaccine, mask, and test producers etc. should all at some point pay back a portion of their profits in the form of additional taxes, assuming those profits were derived in part from government investments, right? Yeah, that would offset a bit of the debt being incurred by all these Covid-related expenditures...

You mentioned "Earlier on". Do you still think those would be good ideas if we were to do them now? With the understanding that none of us are experts here when it comes to this subject, what exactly would educating folk and encouraging them to make better choices look like in your opinion?

Obviously, there are some things which ought to be common sense by now, at least if you ask me,...at the same time though, folks do seem to have differing views on a lot of what works and what shouldn't even be bothered with. When it comes to Biden, I actually don't think he nor other government/medical officials are intentionally just trying to piss people off. In truth, this whole pandemic thing is just as new to them as it is to the rest of us. Basically we're dealing with a once in a lifetime event that no one, and I mean no one, has ever really had any experience in dealing with before..., so its understandable to me that a lot of what goes on with something like this would be just so much fumbling around in the dark.

Out of all of us, I'd say the medical community, with their knowledge of pandemic history and ingrained understanding of viral mechanics, are probably the best equipped to predict how things will shake out, but even they aren't going to have all the answers right away for something like this... particularly when it comes to the more social and political aspects. If we can at least get a fuller picture of what all the options are, I think that will help.
