'Excuses'? No, I'm interpreting the law the best way I know how. I analyze the situation and come to judgments(which can change as more facts come in.) As an example, the worst POTUS in 100 years is POTUS. He wants to wear that crown and brag about it so badly, I don't see anyone really protesting it. He's managed to outdo Jimmy Carter in less than a year, and he has three more years to go. Let's see what transpires in these three years. I hope for peace and prosperity, but who knows.

Well......he did collude with Russia, he was impeached twice he lies ALL the time, he did lose the election and cause a riot over it. What's more frustrating is that it's all in plain sight and the right looks the other way. Why?

Well, I wouldn't say the left "lose their marbles" but it is confounding how a guy that is and has been know as nothing but a loud mouthed buffon for his entire "career" rose to become the President. As so is the law firm that certified them. All corporate law firms who handle large tax clients are required by law to not only certify, but defend any claim against those returns. They are just as liable as the client.

 

A company doesn't need to deal with an external firm to produce its tax reports.

There are thousands of accountants who violate the law by filing and signing false documents for the company they work for.

And some of them work for Trump Org.

No law firm making 10s of millions annually in client revenue is going to knowingly falsify one clients tax returns with 12 or more lawyers on a thousand page return.

Why would Trump wave executive privilege when he knows from 5 years of past experience what they will do. Take information out of context, run to the media with their fake claims, and for months this is the new bombshell that takes down Trump only to find out its was just yet another hoax.

Trumps tax lawyers are Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. They were subpoenaed to turn over portions of Trump returns. Not Trump employees.
No tax returns are created by Trump employees as there would be no protections for Trump org and no businesses even close to the size of the Trump org would even attempt an in house tax return when it would actually cost the same to have a large tax firm prepare and defend your taxes.

 

Lots of businesses prepare their tax returns internally. And having someone else do it does not shield the company from liability.

 

But he WAS imprisoned for LYING to Congress which is the point, I don't take his word about anything.

To be legitimately requested under a Congressional subpoena they must be for a legislative purpose. What do you expect them to find that is required for some legislative purpose.
