Yes, they will attempt to 'prove' you were speeding, even if you weren't, or why would they have pulled you over for speeding? Especially on Interstates or major highways, they will estimate your speed. If you give them answers to the 'innocuous' questions, you have provided them with self admitted proof of their claim. Whatever jurisdiction benefits monetarily from tickets, so they have a reason to want their stops to be supported.

 

I've never got a ticket, just a few sorrys have been enough to be let go with just a warning. And police need evidence which won't be there if you were not speeding.

Perhaps the police should be defunded since you think that they will place false charges on you.

Nobody on the planet has ever been charged with fraud for paying higher insurance premiums for what they believe their property is worth. If you can convince an insurance company why your property has more value than the insurance company claims, and they agree and give you a policy, thats on the insurance company. They only way this could come into play is if Trump destroyed such property and wanted a pay out and the insurance company charged Trump with knowingly lying about the property.

But some local DA doesn't get to determine if an insurance company was defrauded, when the insurance company isn't even making such claim.

Police cars have on board speed cameras which record your speed so will record your every movement from behind.

I really think you should quit with things like the statement 'they will lie'. I've told you they will take your statement of 'I don't think I was speeding' as you don't know for sure, if you say you were late to work gives you cause to have exceeded the speed limit regardless of your intention. That is not 'lying' as you call it, it is taking information you provided, and their estimation of your speed, and applying the most likely answer: Occam's Razor.

That is why you shouldn't give them any information. Your choice, do as you will.
