Trump himself likes to give people cute little nicknames, though. Why shouldn't he be repaid in kind?

And that's the pattern Jiminy has of denying others civil liberties in this post.

That has nothing to do with the the question .. Duh .. "whether someone who pleads the 5th is necessarily guilty" is the claim on the table .. try to stay on page.

Sorry dude, but I can pretty much guarantee that I know a lot more about this than you do, and 500 answers in 6 hours is certainly possible. You really have no idea what you’re talking about.
You’re so far out of your depth that you can’t even see it.

Then you are just as responsible for the division as Trump.

So you lower yourself to his level while trying to plead the high ground of "he deserves it"?

    ....yeah, makes sense....not.

Yeah, the guy with a water pistol hosed you down to the same degree as the guy with a fire hose. Sure thing...

Your false equivalency makes as much sense as comparing apples and spark plugs.

No, that's not entirely accurate. Police officers, like medical doctors and mental health professionals are given the benefit of the doubt. Do you live a small town or off a beaten path? Police officers stop people all the time and will lie and other cops will back them up. It's called "The Blue Code of Silence".

I'm actually a bit surprised you think the playing field is level relative to cops and the people they stop.
I didn't go back and read @Collateral Damage's post but I don't have any reason to think he thinks that based on having previous conversations with him. I am also not speaking for him.

And, more generally speaking, most people that have concerns about people in any profession, don't necessary want that profession shut down (forced closure to no funding). Why do you think it's an all-or-nothing kind of thing?

Then link the transcript. Show me the transcript and if it verifies the claim, I'll believe it.

I cannot find the transcript online. But the NY AG asserted, as a fact, in a court filing, that both Trump and Weisselberg pled the fifth more than 500 times each, in their 5.5 hour and 6 hour depositions.

If you are right, that it simply didn’t happen, that means the AG lied to the court. Which could get her reprimanded, sanctioned or potentially even disbarred by the court. And it would also destroy her credibility with the court, which would hurt her case. You think she would lie about something so trivial? The effect is much the same whether they invoked the fifth 500 times or 200 times.

You have reached your conclusion that her statement is false based on a LACK of evidence. Typical trumpster approach. You want to prove it’s horseshit? Show me the transcript.

Crooks…. laughable…… Post your proof….. so according to you building a legitimate business makes you, in your own words “a crook”. Correct? However, someone like biden and the rest of the lifelong POLITICIANS in this country are legitimate, what businessmen??

Do the math. 6 hours = 360 minutes. 500 times in 6 hours = less than a full minute between each fully formed and stated question.

And that's with no breaks. Logic applied = AG exaggerated, or was told in exaggeration. Extremely unlikely for this to have happened, especially if you can't find the transcript to support your statement.

    <Flame-bait/Replies>

The lawyer doesn’t try to think up questions on the spot. He or she will have pages of questions prepared. And the witness, knowing that he is going to plead the fifth, will have his standard answer written out, and repeat that standard answer 500+ times.
It’s like reading from a script. For both of them.
No drama. Boring as hell. And the questions can go very fast. There’s no thinking, no consideration of the questions or the answers.
The only point of the exercise - in that situation - is to get the questions on record, and the fact that he pleaded the fifth on record.
If you don’t think it’s possible to get through 500 questions in 6 hours, you really have no idea how these things work. You say impossible. I know, from experience, that it’s easy.

I didn't say he thought up questions on the spot.

I've been deposed, and been present during a questioning session. As well practiced as someone may be, they don't shoot the questions off at high speed, which is what would be required for that many questions, and responses as brief as they might have been.

I reckon it took about 6 or 7 seconds for these guys to plead the fifth each time they did so. That leaves a ton of time for the questions which should be short and simple.

500 in 6 hours? Easy to believe.

The AG lying to the court in a court filing? That would be the end of her career.

My calculations did not account for breaks. If they took breaks, that means they were asking questions, and getting a Plead the 5th even faster....

She's already retiring. The whole idea that 6 hours was spent machine gunning questions and receiving the brief response, defies logic and common sense.

As I previously said, the AG may have been told it was 500 times, but it is highly doubtful.

Another poster said they didn't believe that someone could plead the fifth non-stop for 6 hours, so it couldn't be true.

I (mistakenly, it seems) took it that you mentioned breaks for the same reason.

As an aside, the clock can of course be paused and restarted.

We've seen so much lying by folks who we should not expect to lie, for exactly the reasons you stated, yet they do, so yes, where's the transcript?

And if the transcript isn't available, that indicates that this is information that was improperly leaked. And if that's the case, why should I trust the integrity of information that was unethically leaked? How many times in the last 5 years has illegally leaked "information", from supposedly impeccable sources, turned out to be complete and total lies.

Some time you should review all the lies you believed about Trump and his circle, that turned out to be disinformation, and then you should ask yourself why you continue to swallow this crap down. As for me, I've become skeptical, show me the transcript, and if it supports the claim, I'll believe it.
