Paper and cloth masks have very little effect on viral load, certainly not enough to warrant wearing them. Change "huge" to nearly meaningless.

    Shhh! ;-)

    “Abstract

There were 3 influenza pandemics in the 20th century, and there has been 1 so far in the 21st century. Local, national, and international health authorities regularly update their plans for mitigating the next influenza pandemic in light of the latest available evidence on the effectiveness of various control measures in reducing transmission. Here, we review the evidence base on the effectiveness of nonpharmaceutical personal protective measures and environmental hygiene measures in nonhealthcare settings and discuss their potential inclusion in pandemic plans. Although mechanistic studies support the potential effect of hand hygiene or face masks, evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza. We similarly found limited evidence on the effectiveness of improved hygiene and environmental cleaning. We identified several major knowledge gaps requiring further research, most fundamentally an improved characterization of the modes of person-to-person transmission.”

Shiu1, Huizhi Gao, Jessica Y. Wong, Min W. Fong, Sukhyun Ryu, and Benjamin J. Cowling, Author affiliations: University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China. (emphasis mine)

The inconvenient truth: Much of the Left praised Hitler and Mussolini until Hitler broke the Hitler/Stalin Pact and invaded the USSR.

"With this ideological background of the time, Fidel clearly revealed who his heroes were in his personal life. He walked soberly around the campus with a copy of *Mein Kampf (La Lucha) under his arm; in his room, he had a map on his wall upon which he charted the movements and successes of the Axis armies across Europe; for hours, he would stand before a mirror holding a primitive, early recorder, and mimicking Mussolini's speeches over and over again." Georgie Anne Geyer, Guerilla Prince, The Untold Story of Fidel Castro, Little Brown & Company, Boston 1991, p 42.

It seems these blokes from down under are all too willing to launch their criticisms against the United States but they get all upset when people start poking back.

You do realise that this thread was started by an American in order to gloat about the rise in covid deaths in Australia?
With 24 Americans dead for each Australian, after adjusting for population size, it's not too surprising that people get upset.
The worst day ever in Australia was 80 deaths, (now thankfully falling) whereas there were over 5000 deaths on America's worst day. 5 times worse in the US after adjusting for population.

    On their website.......

92.8% of people aged 16 and over are double vaccinated

92+% double vaccinated. Makes me wonder if it's the vaccines are responsible?

We started vaccinating over 6 months ago surely we should have seen some effect from the vaccines before now if they were the problem

And I note you are still not posting them instead seem to be expecting me to trawl through your previous posts in what will probably be a vain attempt to find valid information. I am pretty sure though, from memory that your “sources” have been completely debunked as the intellectual equivalent of fairy floss - looks and smells good on the surface but in reality teeth rotting poison spun out of almost nothing and sold by dodgy people in dodgy places

Errrr, no. The various Moscow-dominated parties & their hangers on were not 'much of' the left in most places. They were a distinct and relatively isolated minority. You are also describing a period of two years from 1939 to 1941. History fail.

'The left' in the 1930s was the only part of politics that consistenly opposed Fascism, from actual physical confrontations on the streets to sending volunteers to fight fascism in Spain to politicians opposing it using democratic means. Fascists consistently allied themselves with the right, especially as they became more and more autocratic.

If you want an 'inconvenient truth' it is that Fascists had significant consistent support from the right of politics - far greater than anything from the left. This was the case throughout Europe, from the upper reaches of the Tory party in the UK to the French right, Spain, Germany & basically everywhere else. In France a significant part of the political right preferred saw becoming a Nazi puppet state as a means to defeat the left and keep their empire. Petain, Laval et. al. were not 'leftists' in 1940. The consistent opponents of Fascism in France were the democratic left of people like Leon Blum. Similarly the various Nazi puppet regimes It was overwhelmingly right wing figures who collaborated.

You can cherry pick all you want, Fascism had much more support on the right than it did on the left.

Talk to me about 'failure' when your Government/s actions & policies result in America having a death toll from disease something like 13 times less per head of population than Australia's. Because at the moment its the other way round for every death from COVID in Australia 13 Americans have died.

And the tragedy is of course that the majority of those deaths were preventable. But what do your care? Your just along for the 'gloat'. Though it does raise a question about what kind of two legged scumbag 'get's off ' on other people dying?

And as for 'Ronna going to get yu'? Current figures (fingers crossed) seem to indicate we're close to hitting the peak of our infection curve. So - wrong again.
