This is the latest episode from Bill Maher's Real Time show, and his first guest is Yale historian, Timothy Snyder. The segment I want you to watch begins at the 11 minute mark where they are discussing what will probably happen come December of 2024. What are your thoughts on this scenario? Will we get to this point where our democracy comes to a screeching halt?
What if the most people in history didn’t actually vote for Biden and it was all horse ****? Or better yet, what if Democrats create 20 more SC judges and throw the entire balance out of whack forever? Or what if Democrats create 2 New Democrat voting states which also throws everything out of whack? Since we’re just spouting crazy hypotheticals? Although the last 2 aren’t crazy because they actually want to do it.
The are talking about the apocalypse of faithless electors which this conversation was brought on by the left making (again) fake claims about 7 states falsifying elector votes last year to defraud the Jan 6 vote count. 1. This fake claim never happened to begin with. The voting commission knows it, the state DAs knows it, the state AGs knows it, which is why none of them are proceeding with anything. 2. 7 states that claimed their elections were fraudulent all submitted their claims to their state courts. But if they won their cases, they would forfeit the courts findings because they didn't cast their elector vote within the federal time frame. So the electors PUBLICLY prepared the proper documents, (Not in some dark back room) signed them, and forwarded them to their proper constituents. 3. Once the courts decided against their cases, they had to withdraw their elector votes. No votes were submitted for count on Jan 6. So this conversation is ginned up with the false premise that this has already happened and next time it will be worse when it never happened in the first place. If any state tries to declare fraudulent elector votes that does not comply with the actual vote count, and the proper electors provide their votes as well, and you have TWO sets of elector votes from one state, it isn't going to be brain surgery to know who has committed election fraud and whos votes are cast out. This is not what happened in the last election and if they did promote their false elector votes at the same time the proper votes were cast, having two sets of elector votes from a single state would be front page center, military involved, city burning down, fire and brimstone CNN, MSNBC, Fox News 24/7 coverage of an actual attempted coup against the United States. Never did happen, not going to happen.
That appears to be the million dollar question but some can't even admit it's a possibility. I think like Snyder says, the drumbeat will only get louder the closer we get to 2024.
So this is the same exact thing that Democrats discussed doing in 2016 and now that it was ostensibly discussed again their panties are in a knicker... Cry me a River next to a tiny violin while you play it
