That "violent rhetoric" is for the sake to support democracy. We fought a war against fascism before. Somewhere in the mid 1900's. You might have picked it up in history class.
To be against that support of democracy, is supporting the people we fought in the mi 1900's. I doubt Tucker goes that far. I really do.

The whole idea of using guns to defend democracy is, IMO, almost funny.
Because s/he who has the biggest gun or the most supporters will always win.
How can force be justified in a system which runs by equality of voice (demonstrated by voting)?
Force just doesn't qualify as a decider in a democracy...

OTOH I do understand the sentiment but have to ask what is the nature of the "other" you think is coming for your democracy? ISTM what you are describing is a civil war generated by mutual misinformation and deep seated unfounded bias.

That's the exact same kind of stupid nonsense that got a bunch of folks to riot in the Capital building. Nobody, not the rioters in the Capital and not any mouth breather who answers this fool's call, are defending democracy or doing anything noble. They are just idiots following bigger idiots.

 

I believe we will need to defend democracy by 2024. I think the RW Trumpists will have a plan in place to destroy ballots, and 'recreate' their own election results, and their own electors to foist a faux RW government on this country. And we will have to fight county by county, state by state to defend ballots, protect the process and march to washington or the country and constitution will be lost. We should not begin to arm, to prepare, to train and to mobilize an organized militia in defense of our republic from enemies foreign or domestic?

We cannot say we did not see what they were intending when they have already shown us their roadmap in 2020. The question is how do we respond when they do a better job the second time around. These people take what they want. And they only understand power as their impediment.

And this is what's really unhealthy in society. The zero-sum game of power leads to this inevitable conclusion and always has. Where we are now is proof that Martin Van Buren was wrong about the idea of two parties somehow defusing conflict. The existence of a 2nd party demands conflicts, it necessitates it. In reality, a one party state is healthier for the expression of opinions as the opinions are in lock step and not confrontational.
