Interesting. We aren't going to save your life because you might get sick.
On the other hand, he doesn't want to get a shot that would probably make him sick.

A Boston-area hospital said it will not perform a heart transplant on a patient who refuses to get a Covid-19 vaccination.

DJ Ferguson, 31, was previously prioritized for a heart transplant at Brigham and Women’s hospital, but is no longer eligible as he refuses to get vaccinated, said Ferguson’s family, according to a report by CBS Boston.

Not sure what the rules and requirements are, nor whether or not this is something a sitting board decides but I don't think it's a law that one is entitled to a heart for transplant even if one is on a list? I am going to assume that the proper recourse is to petition the board or sue them in a court of law or both.

So they’re holding his life over his head unless he conforms. Can you say death panels?

As an organ donor, I have to strongly object to this policy. If I get squished on the 405 on my way home, I want my parts to go to those in need. Who the F are they to take my parts and hold them for ransom for the pharma industry?

As rightly they should, just as much as if they were a drug addict or diabetic.

This type of immorality is completely on democrats.

They are so consumed with hate that if you dont conform to their wishes, whether its necessary for you to do so or not, they will genuinely just let you die.

Quite harsh but I guess they think if you don't give a s*** about others, they don't give a s*** about you/.

If you read the article they explain why they don't give transplant organs to the unvaccinated.

Ahhhhhh! I love when people without the requisite knowledge try to backseat drive

    https://aci.health.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/critical-intelligence-unit/living-evidence-surgery

Lots of other advice on that site too in relation to self quarantining prior to surgery as PCR test do not detect early infections

All such lists have requirements. Either "death panels" have always existed or they don't exist now.

Given the high mortality post normal surgery with a patient with Covid would experience - what might be the chance of a heart transplant if they turn out to be covid positive

Remember that to receive a transplant you have to be immunosuppressed

I have a friend who couldn’t get treatment for Covid in Minnesota and was prevented from obtaining it in other states, so nothing surprises me anymore.

You really are asking a lot here. Not everyone wants the explanation in these articles. Some see this posting business as a creative process. Artistic license is an asset to move the plot where it 'ought' to go.

It pissed me off at the time, but then my friend started to feel better. But yeah, in MN an “ethics committee” decides who gets the treatment and they happen to take race into account.
I found him Paxlovid in FL and offered him to ship it if he gets the script from his doc, but they freaked out and refused to send the script to another state.
If he died it would have been squarely on the state and the racists that run it.

I hear ya... I'm also a registered organ donor. I'm always saddened when I find out many aren't... What are you gonna do with your stuff after you are dead??

The simple solution is: Don't take him off the list.... just move him to the bottom

If a matching heart becomes available and NOBODY else is above him on the list (who can get it in time), he should get it...

At that point, if the choice is giving the heart to nobody or taking a chance on this goober, might as well roll the dice....

Of course, if he survives with the new heart, all we'll hear is "Vaccinations didn't make a difference".... can't win with these people...

As far as I can tell the patient doesn't have covid. Your source talks about those already infected with covid.

Also the explanation that was given in the OP article does not fit either. The reason that they gave:

If the immune system is shut down for the transplant then the Covid vaccine is completely worthless due to how it works. The covid vaccine is an mRNA vaccine. It works by "instructing" cells how to make a protein that triggers the immune system to react to the covid virus. If the immune system is "shut down" as is explained by Dr. Caplan then the covid vaccine is worthless because it does not work at all without the immune system. Indeed it might actually be detrimental to a transplant recipient since the mRNA vaccine is instructing the cells how to make that protein. Without the immune system working then that protein may actually cause problems because its making in what will result in too much of the protein without a response from the immune system to help keep it in check.

Is it death panels when they refuse to give livers to people who won’t stop drinking?
I can’t even get hip surgery unless I give up nicotine. Limp panels!!!

American woke are the real racists. A lot of people just didn’t catch up to that fact yet. By the next election more people will get to get the taste of these policies and hopefully will vote these racists out of their offices.
As for not being able to refuse treatment - doctors can’t do anything about it, they just register their patient for an appointment with the state and the state decides whether they approve the appointment or not. It’s f@cked up and it’s real! The only word that describes woke well is “evil”.
Long live Florida and Ron DeSantis for sparing us of this insanity!

Clearly Australia is the gold standard in medical refusal, they insist on TWO POKES or no medical attention!

Doesn’t matter - we are not doing routine surgery on any patients at risk of developing Covid and that means quarantine before during and after. COVID disrupts the lining of blood vessels and increases the amount of clotting - THAT is a recipe for disaster
