It is if you are talking heart transplant because that cannot be scheduled

    Would you mind explaining this?

I'm not sure how you to got from (1) he refuses the vaccine to (2) he would rather die, leave his wife without a husband and his children and newborn without a father, than have a vaccine.

COVID in a patient with heart failure is an almost guaranteed death sentence

Republicans gave up the need for a heart organ @ 1994..... See N. Gingrich.....

    Your mileage may differ...

I am talking about moving someone down on the list for not taking a pharma product. I am sure the justification is based on stats that apply to the masses. Wouldn't this also justify moving Democrats to the bottom of the list?

So, cell-mediated immunity is not impacted?
Hm, I didn’t know that. Thank you!

It sounds like he is in the hospital, being they mentioned transfer, and hospitals don't allow visits so...Isolation has already started. Will he not survive long enough to go on the list and be skipped until the isolation time is completed?

There are no grounds. Surgeons have the right to refuse if patients won't comply with their care plan.

    1. Life is already a guaranteed death sentence.

    2. Vaccinated people can get COVID, therefore it's irrelevant. The argument only if the vaccine provided 100% immunity and none of them do.

I've been sick for three days now so I called my Dr today to see if I could get in. Body aches, weak and tired all the time. Said nope, don't come here if you are sick, go to an emergency center and if they don't give you a prescription then you can come back here. Whut?

Sigh - the boards that award organ transplants have ALWAYS used tables that show the odds of survival. People requesting donor organs have ALWAYS been
turned away when their life choices make them less likely to survive ( Drinking, drug use, etc.). ALWAYS.

sorry are suggesting that decisions on health care are to be based on WHAT YOUR POLITICAL IDEOLOGY IS?

I think that is the antithesis of democratic thinking

Again this comes down to how COVID works in the body - and how vaccines work. The vaccine will not stop an infection but it will stop the virus going wild and causing clots and disruption of the lining of your blood vessels

Read that link I have been posting - the research about Covid and surgery is scary

Possible but then he also has to isolate post transplant and probably for longer. Plus patients have been know to catch Covid inside the hospitals

It may be why emergency centers are overloaded. I think my situation is because my Dr is at a clinic that is geriatric oriented so they don't expose their patients to Covid. Instead they send you to a emergency waiting room full of people with it and let them do it.

Did you try another surgeons? I was denied knee replacement because I'm too you. It took me 2 years but I found a surgeon willing to do it and it was flawless. I had a physical therapist come to the house for about six weeks and have never had any issues with it.

He cared more about my quality of life (which is horrible because I couldn't walk with an assistive aid and was in pain constantly).

    (1) If he needs a heart transplant, he's obviously in very poor health.

In another article, his father says, "My son has gone to the edge of death to stick to his guns and he’s been pushed to the limit." and that they are thinking about transferring him, but he may be too weak to move. “We are aggressively pursuing all options, but we are running out of time.

    (2) If he is not able to have a life-saving transplant because he refuses the vaccine "on principle", he will die. This will have been his choice. Therefore, it will have been his choice to make his his wife a widow, and leave his kids without a father.
