I love how alleged victim testimony under oath is now considered zero evidence..

To the surprise of literally no one, AJ.

An extreme left winger is by definition and character one who exists outside of the Constitution. So what you want isn't a judge, someone bound by the living body that is our law, but someone who will just rubber stamp the far-left radical progressive agenda and slap a bunch of smart-sounding words on it to obfuscate what they really are... which is a fascist enabler. Good news for you is, you'll likely get what you want. Joe will be told to nominate some unqualified hyper-racist cop hating Christian hating POC-supremacist who will show up work in a freakin dashiki instead of traditional black robes all while being hailed by cuck media for how 'historic' it is.

Meanwhile China Russia Iran NK and others will become even more convinced of America's weakness and hasten their plans to dethrone us as a world leader. You'll get your woke Justice, but see what good it does you when the full consequences of American rot have set in.

Of course not. But I think Gorsuch and ACB would have had much more Democratic support if Garland had been confirmed.

    Sworn testimony is evidence.
His extremely aggressive demeanour during the hearing was unprecedented and should have disqualified him.

Trump Was TRAILING in every reliable poll, and Trump was a Certain Loser.
And, in any event, Trump's prospects had no affect on McConnell's thought process.

McConnell's "loophole" was based arond the fact that when he stalled Garland, that the Senate and Presidency were controlled by different parties.
(Thus, approving Barrett was a different crcumstances).

For much of 2016, McConnell said the Senate should wait for the American people to decide the next president who would choose Scalia’s replacement. This conflicts with his decision to pursue confirmation for a nominee just weeks before the 2020 election.

    • McConnell did often justify this position in both 2016 and 2020 by arguing that when the president and the Senate are controlled by different parties, a nominee should not be confirmed, but if they are held by the same party, then the nominee should be confirmed.

    Thank you Justice Breyer.

Now, I think it's a good time to put another liberal on the court and I think we should appoint Merrick Garland, and and install Glenn Kirschner as AG

Haha I mean its a good idea but, as has been repeatedly proven, 'believe all woman' only holds up when they're not accusing Democrats.

I'm 100% for that... Amy would have been a better pick in the first place... She was my pick (such as it was) over Biden at the beginning...

Come on man! Oprah?……let’s get serious here for a minute. It does appear that Xoe the stupid, has indicated that he would appoint a black woman, not the most qualified person for the job. So looking at Xoes track record we should expect…..Whoopi!!!

    Exactly.
Couldn't possibly take the chance of the Dems. Losing the Senate in November.

McConnell basically forced Breyer’s hand here because he said the Republicans wouldn’t confirm any of Biden’s nominees.

confirming a scotus nominee used to be a formality. Now it’s a political fight because democrats didn’t like John Roberts personally.

Republicans need to break with McConnell and confirm Biden’s nominee if they’re qualified.

meet already punished the democrats for their nuclear option in 2013. By not letting them take Scalia’s seat then taking RBG’a seat from them. No more is necessary.

Interesting strategy. Put someone so polarizing on the court, it dilutes what little minority you have left. Brava...LOL

    1) Its congress, that's not evidence in a court of law. Blasey Ford never went to the police, never filed a court case, never did anything when he became a Fed Judge and a Circuit Judge.
    2) Blasey Ford couldn't provide any facts able to be corroborated, even by her own friends who she claims were there. They all claim that isn't what they recall.

    That's zero evidence.

    I disagree.
I think that if RBG retired under Obama (when the Dems still had the Senate), the worst case scenario would be a 5-4 Cons. Majority (with Roberts as the Swing Vote to prevent the Court moving too far Right)
At 6-3, Roberts' influence (as opposed to having a Swing Vote on 4-4 Court) is greatly lessened (if not altogether non-existent).

For example, if Roe were to be overturned by a 5-4 Vote (With Roberts siding with the Liberal Wing).
Clearly that result would have been just the opposite if the Court was split 5-4 (as opposed to 6-3).

Obviously, this cataclysmic turn to the Right (brought on by 3 Trump Appointees) could have been averted if RBG had retired earlier and been replaced by a Liberal.
