I want Biden to appoint a tranny with an eyepatch and a fake leg.

The fundraising and voter turnout will more than makeup for it.

    Jackson is (essentially) a LOCK...

Considering that she was vetted as far back as 2016, and her recent elevation to the DC Appeals Court was clearly done in anticipation of a potential vacancy, wouldn't her nomination be considered a virtual "Lock"?

Possible appointment to U.S. Supreme Court
On February 26, 2016, the National Law Journal reported that Obama administration officials were vetting Jackson as a potential nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court. In March 2016, The Washington Post and the Associated Press confirmed that information; Reuters reported that Jackson was one of five candidates interviewed as a potential nominee for the vacancy.

It has been speculated that President Joe Biden will nominate Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court now that he has the opportunity to select a new justice during the 117th United States Congress. Biden had pledged during the 2020 United States presidential election campaign to appoint a black woman to the court, should a vacancy occur.Jackson's appointment to the D.C. Circuit, considered to be the second most influential federal court in the United States, behind only the Supreme Court, was viewed as preparation for a potential promotion to the Supreme Court. Justice Stephen Breyer's reported intention to retire in 2022 fueled further speculation that President Biden would name her as his replacement

I think most Republicans expected to keep the Senate and the White House, but either way, is it your opinion that Obama was prevented from stealing Scalia's seat through political hackery?

One year of the radical Marxist progressive left having power and we've got skyrocketing inflation, rampant shortages, massive joblessness, COVID is out of control, Afghanistan fell, Ukraine is next, and our allies and more importantly our enemies look at us as a weak nation, with a weak senile President, that cares not for any of this because we're too focused with asinine wokeness.

And all of this as a result of those far-leftists not even being able to do but 5% of what they wanted! So tell me more about how this is all "subjective".

This back and forth could go on endlessly - you see the country one way and I see it a different way. No amount of discussion will have either of us convinced of the other's view. I don't see Biden as a Messiah, certainly, but I don't hold him or your 'Marxist progressive left' responsible for all the country's woes. Children play 'all or nothing' games, and I hope we're both better than that.

There is always political considerations when a SCOTUS justice is selected, you know this.

Biden has to give something to one of the largest constituent groups who elected him, the black female constituency.

As long as there are qualified justices in that category, it would make no difference whether she is a man, women, black, or white insofar as qualifications go. So, if there is a qualified black female justice, she'll probably be the one he picks, for political considerations.

Let's get real, Kavanaugh was NOT the most qualified judge yet the right appointed him. His behaviour before the hearings, and some of his writings, clearly demonstrate he is not of the caliber one might expect of a Supreme Court justice.

Gorsuch said something, which, to me, disqualifies him as a judge, period.
What he said was that (paraphrased) a 'good judge should not be concerned with the outcomes of his rulings', stating that the facts and the law are all that matters.

The problem with that philosophy is that real world circumstances, and the search for laws that regulate those acts, are often subject to interpretation which will vary depending on one's 'judicial philosophy'.

If everything were black and white, his opinion might make sense, because, because that is not reality, there is, in my view, a higher concept which should negate his philosophy, and it goes like this:

Gorsuch believes that a good judge should ignore outcomes in his decisions.
    Justice is an outcome.
Therefore, Gorsuch is not concerned with justice.

In other words, given the fact that justice is an outcome, and his title on the court is 'justice' and the symbol of jurisprudence are the 'scales of justice' that a good judge should very much be concerned with the outcome of his rulings because justice is the outcome, or should be.

Given this fact, it is my view that Gorsuch should not be allowed on the Supreme Court.

Thomas should be disqualified because of his sexual shenanigans.

Kavanaugh should be disqualified because of his petty rant before the hearing, far below the standards of what one would expect of a Supreme court justices and his writings leave something to be desired.

Seriously?? Of course there is....... I mean, of course there are

If he wants to appoint a black female justice, he'll have his choice from several... I guess the vetting will be primarily to see who will set off the Republicans on the SJC the least (or most)...

MSNBC just shows some head shots of 5 with brief bios... .the one from California is 45 yo...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leondra_Kruger

Still too old for @The Mello Guy, but getting closer to his ideal age for a SCOTUS nominee..

That's a joke, but it would actually be freaking awesome....Of course he'd decline, because he's have to (mis)handle questions from the SJC on live TV (which T**** would call a perjury trap). He'd probably take the 5th at his own confirmation...

    :roflol::roflol:

Yet another chance for America to realize how unqualified for any job in US Government he is...

    I'm down..... let's do this!!

No. It will be Ketanji Brown Jackson.

She's been groomed for Breyer's spot ever since Merrick Garland was named AG and she got promoted to his spot on the DC appeals court.
