I say nah. will a $35 fine still be sufficient punishment for an endless stream of protesters that try to unlawfully disrupt the confirmation process with vocal demonstration inside the process chambers?
I know government moves slow, but not quite that slow. Good break for the Democratic party nothing brings a caucus together like a Supreme Court nominee. Wouldn't say it's going to save them, but it might focus them a little more.
depends on who you ask.. who ever is named you can bet your ass the vote will be split 50-50 then kamala harris is the tie breaker will merrick garland get the Nod??
Liberal judge is retiring. Biden has nearly three years to replace him with another liberal judge. The big question is there any possible way that Biden could screw it up? The answer is a resounding "Yes". He is fully capable of screwing it up.
garland would be a good choice. then appount swallwell as attornet general to five justice a swift kick in the azz.
It will probably be Brown-Jackson and they voted for her Fed nomination along with a few Republicans (if I remember correctly Murkowski, Collins, plus…ah, well..I don’t remember correctly).
the only way to avoid filibusters is to appoint someone approved by the federalist society. that would be a screw up.
You only need a simple majority in the Senate to appoint a Justice. This is a layup even for Biden. Get ready for a black women Justice , whether or not she is the best available candidate. Affirmative action at its highest or more accurately lowest point.
Ieave Swalwell in Congress. Appoint Garland to SCOTUS , then fill the AG post with Glenn Kirschner ( listen to his daily YouTube videos, and you'll quickly see why I'd like to have him as AG ).
They might appoint Chicago mayor lightfoot: 1. A woman 2. Black 3. Gay That’s like nirvana, right there! The only way to score better is to find a tranny that is attacked to other trannies, like a man that turned into a woman who seeks women who turned into men.
Biden already pledged to nominate an African American woman judge for the position. He’s got a quota to fill and a race card to play.
Of course he could screw it up, it's by no means a given that he'll get 50 Senate votes for whatever nominee he chooses. That said, given this doesn't really matter and won't change the composition if the court, the GOP could take the high ground on this pretty easily.
I had to chuckle the GOP has not taken the high ground in many years that I know of please post one instance the GOP took the high ground??
there will be no hearings. there will be no confirmation. disclaimer : if biden nominates someone from the federalist society list it will be smooth sailing to a 7-2 court.
