Wanted to add to that link about Russian propaganda acknowledging united Ukraine - he said Russians cannot find any political forces to cooperate with them to establish new power. Even Ukrainian pro-Russians don’t want anything to do with them anymore! As a result, they can’t establish administrative control of areas they control militarily.

I want to say something here a little off topic but it underscores my attitude towards not just this war, but wars in general.

I yearn for the day when the armies facing one another would be those composed of "good" versus "evil". We have never had such a thing. The atrocities which inevitably are committed in war by all sides will be used by the victors to paint the vanquished as evil. In the false paradigms of good v evil (an ancient Iranian dichotomy and concept, incidentally), a lot of evil on one side will eventually be painted good and a lot of good on the other side will eventually painted as evil. This applies from the lowliest positions in a war, such as its foot soldiers, all the way to the top. There will be many soldiers on the side of whoever is vanquished (and vice versa) who would be nothing but good, decent, capable, honest, brave souls the same way the side of the victors (and vice versa) will include the most obvious manifestations of evil: dishonest liars, selfish, sadistic, cowardly, and malicious souls.

And that would be a battle and war worth waging all the time. A war where I would want my kids to be involved in as much as anyone else.

You keep forgetting that Ukraine was the most corrupted country in Europe - by a country mile, that country has their own corrupted oligarchs, their standard of living was below Russian standard of living etc....Also you seem not to understand that GDP numbers do not equate the quality of living. Close to 70% of Londoners work just to pay the rent and bills. Not to mention homelessness, mental health issues, food banks etc....Russia is not the benchmark to be compared to. You should aim much higher.

..isnt' that an aspiration derived through a free exchange of ideas and ideals, through education and dialogue, though trade and commerce and not through killing? All you're desiring is the furtherance of the polarisation of differences by making meaningless definitions based on arbitrary concepts of good and evil. Societies evolve and peoples interact and their wants and needs and fears and friendships evolve with it through the construction of complex networks of understanding and tolerance. You don't create a "good side" and you can't define an "evil side" simply for the sake of expediency.
