For Ukraine from our own US history:

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on . . .

The US provided intelligence knowing how the Iraqis had used it in the past and quite aware how they would be using it again. And used its diplomatic prowess to table attempts to condemn Iraq for doing so. There is actually a lot more to it, but that is by itself more than sufficient to establish accomplice liability. Now. whether you think that it is good or bad that the US was complicit is for you to settle for your self.

The only partial "saving grace" for the US in my mind is that there is little evidence of US complicity in Iraq's use of chemical weapons against some of the civilian towns and villages he sprayed with gas. But even there, the US tolerated that too, in some ways acting as an accessory after the fact.

In the long run, Operation Prying Mathis helped Iran's navy accelerate its self-sufficiency drive, while improving its tactics. In the short run, it just killed a bunch of brave souls.

Below is a pic of the Iranian built warship commissioned as the Sahand (aka new Sahand), built in memory of the original Sahand sunk by the US, escorting Iran's expeditionary sea base vessel, the Makran, on their maiden voyage to the Atlantic.

    So what...

Ukraine has received a bunch of donations in crypto, to use them they had to make it legal... Because of the largesse, they suddenly want to be crypto friendly, which is understandable.

El Salvador tried crypto, didn't work out so well. Ukraine will also have difficulties, if they get too deeply involved.

I doubt that will happen. They are in a war, and that is going to suck down most of their money. And the donations will drop off, and that will further cool any crypto fever.

Sorry, but states are sovereign entities, and no state bears any legal responsibility for the decisions of another.

    You missed the best part.

We talked Iraq into attacking Iran as punishment for not being subservient, and for embarrassing us.

For that we had Saddam start a war that killed a generation of young Iranian males...

Th responsibility, both in a domestic context and internationally, is theoretically the same: for your own decisions and actions (as outlined by me in my post) not the actions of another person. An accomplice isn't the one committing the main crime but liable for the assistance provided for commission of the crime.

The US provided intelligence. The US had no role in Iraq's decisions about how to use it.

While that is definitely among the many actions US has taken against Iran, I decided to stick to things I can establish more clearly and which (in a world governed by rule of law, not rule of the jungle) would establish complicity/accomplice liability.

And used its diplomatic prowess to table attempts to condemn Iraq for doing so. Unless you are disputing those facts I have underlined, your description omits the basis for being complicit/accomplice liability.

I suppose YOU don't subscribe to the adage: "They HATE us because or our Freedoms"
It is More Likely - "They HATE us because we are Mentally & Spiritually SICK"
    .... in this case

I am the very model of a Russian Major General
My standing in the battlefield is growing quite untenable
My forces not equipped and given orders most equivocal
Did not expect this fight to be remotely this reciprocal!!

I used to have tank brigade but now I have lost several
My fresh assults are faltering and battle plans extemporal
I can't recover vehicles but farmers in a tractor can
Its all becoming rather reminiscent of Afghanistan!

My Ordnance is badly made with only half my missiles getting there
I would have thought by now we should have been controllers of the air
But at the rate the snipers work my time here is ephemeral
I am the very model of a Russian Major General

@Jeannette another poem however, probably not from your Greek sites....:D.....sorry no puerile wee gif's to go with it though just a video unfortunately....:)

What the US may or may not have known is irrelevant. The US was under no obligation to participate in Iraq's decisions.

It is relevant to accomplice liability. It satisfies what is the mens rea element. The difference between someone who, knowing a person intends to (say) murder someone, gives the person the keys to their car for the would-be murderer to drive to the place to commit the crime, and someone else not knowing that a car is to be used in a crime, giving them the keys. This has nothing to do with any "obligation" (none) to participate in someone else's decision.

It is interesting to note that this brutal, illegal, immoral war that Russia has forced upon Ukraine has served to unify some members of PF who normally could not be farther apart from each other on many issues.

It's good to see so many people with whom I usually strongly disagree also feel the same righteous tug in their heart and the logic of their minds that tells them that this is all wrong, that this should never have happened and that this will ultimately end badly for Putin's Russia. Very, very badly.

And it's also shown us who really, truly hates the democratic core-principals of the West.

You quoted someone else and attributed to me must have messed up the quote function.

I don't think we should not Ignore Israels theft of the Golan and the years of Israeli aggression after that nor should we ignore the annexation of Crimea as you suggest. What you should probably be ignoring is the purple kool-aid propaganda you have been gulping down - and do a better job of veting you sources.

Not sure what a "revanchist conflict is" but agree that we poked the Bear one too many times quite obviously.
