While that used to be the case - Blue now holds the banner for "Most Authoritarian"

You missed some big ones ..
Vax Mandate - raging authoritarianism the likes of which Adolf would be proud
Capital Protest - Wanting to turn any one associated with a Protest - which happenes to get violent or results in property destruction - into "Domestic Terrorists
Propaganda/Censorship -- the likes of which Adolf would be proud
Witch Hunts against Opposition - "Russiagate"

I suppose we could add forcing others to pay for peoples college debt that they did not sign up for. We can also add forcing trans issues on our kids.

College Debt is an absolutely horrible one .. not even applicable - just terrible that you would say that.. not just because it shows real lack of understanding of what authoritarianism is - but because it detracts from the arguments that are applicable.

Yes .. Communists built roads .. but that is not what made them authoritarian .. US Road Building also comes about as a form of Socialism but this is not "Authoritarianism"

We agreed on the pot .. that there shold be a collective pot .. and you also agreed that you don't get to pick and choose how the money in that pot gets spent - never mind on an idividual basis .. as how could you do otherwise .. such a system couldn't function .. as everyone hates something .. you wouldn't be able to spend any of the money in the Pot.

Just way off the mark with the College debt thing mate ..

The Tran's issue falls into the state sponsored propaganda bin.

Michigan has banned all abortions, no exceptions. (The cruelty is the point)

That includes the Morning After pill..

Their AG is refusing to enforce it, which will make for an interesting court fight.

It will likely come down to voters to determine each states abortion laws. Or so it seems.
This may energize the D base if it's an important issue to them.
This could be an election of 1 issue and perhaps not the issue of the economy as most elections reflect.

In other words, mislead the Voters of their states. What a GOP concept.

    edit:
Why would they need to mislead voters? Is making anti abortion laws unpopular?

If it gets leaked, they'll whine about the leak instead of the actual issue.

And then once an unwanted fetus is born, the same people who forced the unwanted to be born, will then turn it's back on them and try to take away basic needs like food and shelter because it's welfare.

Abortion rights will be well down the list of issues in the elections. Dems know this but they have nothing else to rum on so they'll hype it anyway.

Whatever you say, but they are still the more authoritarian version of government.

Banning abortion, creating "forbidden topics" lists, continuing war on drugs, censorships, threatening schools, creating laws to control social media, creating laws to control businesses etc etc

The leak was certainly a terrible thing that happened. It undermines the faith in the USSC.
But then, those who recently got seated and perhaps lied about their views on abortion during confirmation hearings is also a loss of faith.

I guess there's no faith left in the USSC. They now have joined the ranks of filthy politicians.

If it's a Repub state, why do they care if it will rally Dems? Do they not have faith in their voters or they don't actually have enough R voters?
So, lying to the public to avoid a backlash is saying the move is unpopular.

There is a problem with running on nothing but pointing out things in your opponents. Its always better to run on things you have to offer.

You know there's R voters that are also pro choice.
One can be pro choice but anti abortion at the same time.

If one doesn't like abortions, don't get abortions.
There's hundreds of reasons why a woman might want an abortion. Medical, legal, financial, etc. That should be a choice of each person and their doctor to make. A state should not force all people to behave or think the same.

The war on drugs is a good thing.
The so called forbidden topics is nothing democrats themselves are not guilty of.
Democrats likewise have threatened funding for schools before as well

And creating laws to control social media? Seriously? Have you not listened to Warren about making laws against social media? What law has republicans proposed?

Go with the founding documents, largely, the constitution.
Which is why this usually ends up at the USSC.

And then voters also can have a say. If they don't like laws being forced down their throats, they can vote out those who voted for those laws.

Which is why another poster in this thread suggested the Rs not bring this up as an issue this year. They need to lie to the voters about their plans.
Because it's an unpopular decision to a majority.

Not only proposed, but actually passed in Florida and Texas (with your approval of course).
