NATO in Ukraine would have posed no threat to Russia. The only "threat" NATO poses to Russia is that it might stop their aggressive military expansion. Ukraine had a clause in their constitution that they wouldn't be joining NATO . . . and then Russia invaded. Russia's invasion encouraged NATO "expansion," not the other way around.

Russia was, objectively, the aggressor here. Don't fall for their imperialist excuses.

Pope Francis upsets US media and people like you by seeing the Russia vs Ukraine war differently. But then he is not running for any election nor a supporter of arms industry profiteering.

Quite the contrary. The pope, not NATO is trying to appease Russia to make life easier for his flock. He would do well to stay out of it. Go manage your church. Politics doesn't suit you.

You have really bad propaganda. At least Destroyer makes better points. Read his propaganda for while. It might be a positive influence for you.

Dog **** take. And one that doesn't acknowledge how Russia perceives it. Only how yardmeat perceives it.

Which in the end is all that matters. Trying to figure out how others perceive actions. And in the case as was clearly evident, Russia perceives a westernized Ukraine in NATO as a threat.

    And they acted.

I realize it offends Putin's propaganda, but it is true.

    Maybe this=
"But it didn't happen in a vacuum. We (the west) are the proverbial troll that deliberately antagonized this violent reaction from Russia to lure them into this trap. Our political establishment has always had a hardon to mount Russia's uncooperative head on the wall and they're gonna get it no matter how many innicent Ukrainians have to suffer and die in the process."

What's the point of this naive nonsense posing as an excuse?
Do you think that the vacuum was one-sided?
From day 1, Putin has been fomenting trouble in Ukraine, with his lapdog rulers and destabilizing antics in parts of Ukraine, all designed to further his agenda of a reconstituted Soviet Union.
The Ukrainians opted for independence, and took their vast natural wealth with them, thwarting Putin's ambition, and that's the reality of the situation.
It goes without saying that competing powers are at work in the region, but pretending the Putin was somehow goaded into this by an overreaching west is disingenuous and takes attention away from the pressing fact that Putin is attacking a sovereign country to further his own corrupt agenda.
He has overreached and embarrassed himself and the west will have to get even tougher before this is settled, or they will just enable more of his aggression, like all the ignorant Putin apologists are doing now, trying to develop some sort of moral equivalency or float some excuse why it's not all Putin's fault.
The war on Ukraine is totally Putin's fault.
It also shows what a stupid little thug he really is. I miss Gorbachev.

Horse **** take. Ukraine had it, in their constitution, that they would not join NATO. That didn't change until AFTER Russia invaded. Russia is the clear aggressor here. Full stop. Any take that says otherwise is dumber than a sack of hammers.

I get that some misguided souls want to hold hands with mass murdering dictators and sing Kumbaya with them to learn their "perception." I'll keep going with reality over authoritarian propaganda. But you do you.

How is NATO a threat to Russia? NATO hasn't once invaded Russia and European nations are the most peaceful on earth.
