Monmouth’s current midterm election poll records the largest net deficit in wrong track v. right track in the entire history of the Monmouth poll. Only 18% of Americans say we’re on the right track, v. 79% who say we’re circling the drain. Granted, it’s just one (albeit one of the most respected) poll(s). Real Clear Politics, which averages poll results from multiple surveys (including Monmouth) has the aggregate discrepancy at 26% approve v. 67% who don’t. Meanwhile, the left continues to double down on woke, despite getting their heads handed to them at every turn. Their impending bloodbath in November should be a wake up call. Color me skeptical they’ll learn anything useful from it.
Its almost like they're not even worried about people not voting for them. Prepare for another record breaking voter turnout...
You're right. Biden for the right and abortion for the left will make a record midterm turnout for sure.
No, it does not seem they are interested in these mid-terms, and its evidenced in the fundraising cuts. Maybe their eyes are on 2024 and they'll let GOP take over this year and let them pass Federal bans on abortion, contraception etc, and then Dems run on repealing those, legalizing pot, etc in 2024 + they'll add a new candidate for WH. Midterms don't break records, and they wont have to. All historical stats are against Dems, and Biden is one of the least inspiring president ever and incapable of energizing anyone + inflation pretty much dooms them. Obama had energy, and had high approval among the base, and after 2 yrs there was significant improvement in economy, so the Dem base could have shown up to save Congress, but they didn't, because they never do for midterms. Its weird, but it is what it is. So, yea.....DOOOOOOOMED.
Your premise is summarily rejected. People are rightly concerned/angry/anxious about inflation, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, inflation, COVID's continued threat, political divisiveness, supply chain woes, the imminent overturning of Roe, congressional gridlock, did I mention inflation. It's a lot. The extent to which Biden's admin is responsible for any/all of these things is debatable. As someone pointed out on the board yesterday, the facts in this regard don't matter. Biden is in the WH so Dems get blamed. It's how it works.
The zealots of the democratic party religion just cannot understand why folks won't follow their religion anymore..... But it is instructive to view them from this lens. Democrats aren't religious folk, but they need to believe in something, and the tyranny of their government and their policy is what they believe in..
The same poll indicates the blame lies with Congress. There is no mention of the left or "woke" politics. Read your source.
Until recently, we weren't really paying a whole lot of attention to woke. Or perhaps just writing it off as the lunatic fringe. Remote learning change that, in my opinion. It was amusing to see the outrageously outrageous outrage posted by a lib on this board over Libs of Tiktok. How dare you show the world what we really think! What they really think has exposed the reality: the lunatic fringe is now mainstream on that side of the aisle.
You confuse the fickle vagaries of public opinion, due to unsettled times, with any real shift in core beliefs. But then you are nothing if not continually confused.
If you don't believe lefty wokesters are feeding into the overall disapproval, I have a bridge to sell you.
Is that an example of your belief that limiting the spectrum of acceptable opinion spewing from your keyboard again??
As James Carville famously observed: "It's the economy, stupid." Wholesale Inflation Rose 11% in April as Producer Prices Accelerate Gasoline, Diesel Prices Rising
And then there are the self-inflicted wounds. Border Crisis Worsens Despite Pledge to Address "Root Causes" Trump: Admin Canceling Alaska Oil Lease "Not Even Believable"
While I am sure that Roe v Wade will increase the left voter turnout, I personally doubt it will be as big of a bump as you and many others are likely hoping. With that being said, it is worth noting that Roe v Wade is not on the ballot. Whatever happens in the upcoming election does not impact that calculation in any way.
I think as we get closer, the hyperbole of the left will only get more shrill as they continue to attempt to misinform the public about the actual impact of a reversal of Roe. But hey, it gives them something useless to do, and isn't that what we just expect them to do anyway? I suspect that the more they squeal, the more they won't address the issues that folks are actually concerned with, and they will go down the drain in their zealotry. Is that such a bad outcome?
