so using a word outside of they and them can get you sexual harassment? You can’t be for real. This whole thing I’m sure is against freedom of speech. I hope they win this one in court. A charge like that can ruin a kids life and this is a minuscule accusation.

You only think it's miniscule because it doesn't cause you harm.Deadnaming and deadpronouning are just another form of verbal abuse. It's not any different than bullying students for other reasons (ie from another country, fat shaming, skin color, religion, ethnic foods, etc.). And, the child that was hurt by this can also be ruined because he or she will be treated according to how this incident impacted the offending child's life. Why is that the offending child's pain any more significant than the offended child's pain?

The part I'm not understanding is why you think people should stand behind your opinion on matters that are important to you but you almost never try to understand other people's pov? I'm not saying that as a dig but don't you see that different people think different things are important and it has nothing to do with right or wrong but individual perspectives on life. There simply is no pathway to understanding one another if we won't even contemplate the idea that everyone has a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness regardless of what that looks like as long as it's not criminal (and, for me, unethical or immoral).

As an aside, "sexual harassment" is not just physical violation of a sexual nature.

Most of the threads I respond to are conservatives spreading misinformation. I hate to say but the left seems to almost always use reputable sources. The right don’t. Which also reflects a national opinion. Democrats are more willing to trust a wider range of sources. The right only trusts Fox News.

 

It is related in just the way I explained in my post. You are using a double-standard if you question why THIS "truth teller" is being punished but have a different opinion about the "truth tellers" that Trump fired and/or lambasted publicly because they wouldn't repeat his Big Lie.

This is the formula,

If..., then...

If a person tells the truth, they should not be punished.
If a person does not tell the truth, they should be punished.

So, unless you think Trump should be in prison for his multitude of lies and crimes to cover those lies, you are applying a double-standard to this specific situation (because you agree with the kid you say is being abused in all this).
