...well it would be lovely if it was wouldn't it!

not much I can do about that I'm afraid...

if you would allow me quote a European Think tank the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies ...

the offer so far is limited to 8 mobile artillery pieces from Germany

    Maybe they are partaking of....
    ...as well....however I doubt it.

Why I wonder are the Baltic states now urgently asking for military assistance....reinforcements....to which the UK and NATO (basically the US) are sending battle groups and aircraft to augment local military forces against potential Russian aggressive action?

You are confusing European countries and the EU when you discuss military hardware. The EU cannot supply military hardware. Individual countries can.

I would count the cancelling of oil and gas contracts to be of some importance to Putin. I understand there are some sever shortages in Russian supermarkets.

Anyway your cut and paste is also confused about capacity of individual members and the EU as a whole, with not one example...merely an opinionated overview which misrepresents reality.
There have been five rounds of trade sanctions by the EU, explained here:

?...EU have just said countries can still buy Russian gas and would not be in breach of sanctions all they have done is "advised" not to open Ruble accounts with Gazprombank - EU closed door meeting ended a couple of hours ago.....there is no oil ban as there is no consensus. The only this they have announced is a EUR370Bn plan to wean the EU off Russian energy by 2027.

....and hardly any are which was my point

I didn't say there was an oil ban.
Some countries independently have decided not to import Russian gas.
Where nation members get their energy supplies and under what conditions is not an EU issue.
You really don't know where the individual national powers stop and the EU starts do you?

The United Kingdom has been very active is supplying weapons to Ukraine. It has just promised rapid fire long range artillery and à great deal of training.
The EU does not have the physical armements necessary to keep the whole Russian army at bay but it has imposed huge sanctions on Russian gas and il. The lack of arms is due to the UK's persistent refusal to create an EU army to provide for this very reason.
Once again, this thread is nothing but deliberately provocation.
