Gas prices weren't record highs during Trump's term. That happened after Biden took over. Let's go Brandon!

Sign of a true rightist, pretend high prices never ever happens when the GOP is in control.

By the way, do you really believe American families are suffering because they can't afford to buy a venti espresso from Starbucks? LOL

Price of gas is factoring in to a lot of products going up and thus the out of control inflation

Yes - it is hurting people.

So what would you like big government to do about it?

When did conservatives advocate for government to step in? What happened to personal responsibility and all that other horseshit y'all been spewing for years?

Well, for one I am not a conservative or a liberal - hate both parties

If you want to reduce dependency on fossil fuels then have replacement/supplements ready to go before you start doing things that will impact production

What specifically has government done to impact production? We have increased drilling every year since the pandemic sunk demand. Oil production is up 8% as well.

What exactly does Trump have to do with the soaring inflation under Biden?

Why is it liberals NEVER provide Biden's solution to the inflation problem. Just one excuse after another.

Are you saying he wanted the price of oil to go up because he wanted to reduce the supply because he wanted the price of oil go up?

...I know you dont believe that.

our price is still set by shortages overseas, we should put American oil on it's own exchange

we are still exporting oil to this day, we do not have a shortage here

Indeed we do. Do you know why? Either you do and you really want to avoid talking about it, or you think Trump didn't have a reason and must have just wanted to make everyones life miserable or something equally ridiculous...

Anyway. its because foreign oil, like sweet crude out of the middle east for the best example, comes from shallow wells, requires relatively little processing and is drilled by workers that don't get paid very well, and thus makes it very hard for western oil producers -specifically American and Canadian- oil workers to compete when global prices are low. When global prices rise, western companies that pay their workers more, are less prone to supporting warlord regimes with their profits, care more about the environment and generally support our local economy more are able to compete and profit.

...provided they are able to operate at all, of course.

Inflation is caused by the government, not the private market. The politicians are lying when they claim this is price gouging.

That’s correct they’re trying to shift blame for their piss poor governing on the private sector to take the heat off the 2022 elections.

there is no long lines for gas, the only reason gas prices are higher is cause they have a shortage of gas overseas and our oil prices is tied to the global price of oil

regardless if we have enough here, we are paying more - Oil companies could lower prices, but they wont

Funny that Trump waited to raise oil prices until the exact day that Biden got elected. Amazing timing on his part.

Uh huh, $2.10 per gallon November 2020. 3 months after the Democrat Executive orders when there was full Democrat control in DC; $2.95 per gallon.

That was an 85 cent per gallon increase post-Executive orders. A 40% increase in a few months; and that was just the start of the fallout from Democrat policies.

Drive up energy costs, drives up all costs and here we are. A Democrat created train wreck

it started to rise as demand rose after covid

Trump lowered supply during covid, so the supply was not there as demand increased.... thanks Trump
