You might want to tell the extreme right-wing elected officials in several states that the overturning of Roe won't outlaw abortions. They may disagree with you.

Quite likely. But is does point out how distorted the perceptions of fundamental biological facts have become. To me, this kind of mindset would be equivalent of her proudly wearing a fresh cow-pie on her head as a hat, because someone told her it would make her look smart.

I don't have to tell them. They already know. The only people that don't know it are the ones who have no grasp of the SCOTUS. The same ones organizations like CNN prey on.

I know you don't have to tell them, that's the point. They already know that the end of Roe means the end of abortion in their states. Roe is the only thing protecting a woman's access to abortion services. Without it, the extremists in those states are going to get rid of it completely. So the end of Roe very much means the end of abortion and there's no two ways about it, and no fogging the issue up by pretending people get to choose.

You got sold a bag of idiotic goods.
There will never be a ban on abortions.
But you go ahead and buy into that fake leftist claim all you want.
I guess its all they have to fight with

So how do you see them? I mean, every other month some new gorilla army rises up and starts chopping off hands and arms and indoctrinating ten year old boys to shoot their own..

I think, as crass as it is, it's a fairly honest assessment of that part of the world..

Ironic to see this example from the side that wants a bigger, more powerful government controlling more of our lives. Gov knows whats best, put on your Covid burka and just go along with it!

If you are really opposed to government overreach and abuse of power, you would also oppose higher taxes, gun control and vax mandates.

You have obviously stumbled upon an alternate dimension. Or maybe you're a gifted physicist and have invented a portal. Either way, if you would be so kind as to share the entrance to this other dimension with the rest of the country, women may not be in danger of losing abortion access, at least somewhere. Here in our dimension they still will be, but at least there will be options.

This alternative dimension you are unaware of is called reality.
Nobody is going to outlaw abortions.
    Stop being silly

A 1 minute web search found numerous examples that the reality you speak of is not actually the one the rest of us live in. So, are you a physicist or did you stumble upon a wormhole?

CNN? Thanks for making my point.
Just like I told you. You guys just slurp up this garbage that isn't made for critical thinkers and just swear by it over and over and over and over.

Tell me. How many times are you willing to run up the hill because CNN cried wolf, just to get egg on your face because you got sucked into yet another fake news piece?
    Thousands upon thousands.
Do I need to list the 20 just to refresh your memory which is why CNN and MSNBC have lost over 80% of their viewership with ratings now below the Cartoon Channel and Nickelodeon?

When you guys can stop the nonsense regurgitations of these fake news claims, life for everyone could be so much better.
    But you won't

You want examples of you getting sucked into a CNN headline?
    Allow me.

13 states have passed so-called 'trigger laws,' bans designed to go into effect if Roe v. Wade is overturned

Yet none of the 13 states listed have an abortion ban.

    FKAE CLAIM
    Arkansas
Arkansas has a law on the books that would ban nearly all abortions
False, their new law cuts down the time you can get an abortion

    FAKE CLAIM
    Idaho
Idaho's trigger ban would make providing abortions a felony
False, Idaho legislators passed a separate bill modeled after Texas' restrictive law, which prohibits abortion once fetal cardiac activity can be detected

An it goes on and on and on

    Do us all a favor
Stop being sucked into fake media claims.

Yeah, you're talking about a federal law I assume. But once Roe v Wade is overturned, abortion will be instantly banned in certain States, right? This is because there are laws lined up ready to come into effect once Roe v Wade is overturned.

Possibly in other States but MD. In MD we would have to RE amend our State Constitution. That too, could happen, but I doubt it will.

    Nope

Really, then provide one of these laws banning abortions.
    I'll wait.

As in, ban it totally, during all stages of pregnancy, with absolutely no exceptions except to save the woman's life?

Advanced democracies have progressed from authoritarian statism where politicians and bureaucrats dictate in private, personal matters.

Some zealots are hellbent on reverting to the tyranny of an Iraq, an El Salvador, or a Haiti, a Senegal, a Nicaragua, or a Laos, in reproductive matters.

Many see Poland as the model of regression for the United States:

Abortion has seized the United States’ attention anew with the prospect that, as early as this month, the Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade, the decision that has made the procedure terminating a pregnancy legal for nearly 50 years. If Roe is overturned, half of American women stand to lose legal access to abortion.

Poland offers a glimpse of a country where abortion is already practically out of reach even in the gravest circumstances. It has long been a showcase of the volatility and vicissitudes of the abortion battles — and how the lives of women and their doctors are tossed about on shifting social and political tides.

The long battle over Poland’s 29-year-old ban on abortion has intensified over the past 17 months after the elimination of the last significant exception permitting the procedure — fetal abnormalities.

Since the exception’s elimination, deaths like Ms. Sajbor’s have been rare — one of three cited by abortion-rights advocates — but they have become a touchstone of grievance for those who say they demonstrate the risks to women posed by restrictive abortion laws.

Only one in 10 Poles support the stricter ban, which was enabled by a decision by the country’s highest court, dominated by judges loyal to a deeply conservative government. The rest of the population is roughly split between reverting to milder restrictions and legalizing terminations.

Today, Poland and Malta, both deeply Catholic, are the only European Union countries where abortions are effectively outlawed..
