Doug Mastriano, a leading voice advancing former President Donald Trump's lies about election fraud, will win the crowded Republican primary for Pennsylvania governor, CNN projects.

Mastriano, a state senator who was endorsed by Trump, is now set to face Democratic state Attorney General Josh Shapiro. They are vying to replace term-limited Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf.

I have said many times that Trump's endorsement in moderate states is a boon to liberals.

    Here's the proof.

Pennsylvania Republicans come to demonstrate the level of intoxication of Trumpism in this country and how dangerous this movement is to democracy.

And because of that, Mastriano's chances of becoming PA's governor are very slim.

As for the next senator, I hope Oz wins and Fetterman makes a killing next November.

I was hoping there was a primary thread out there...

I have little to nothing to say about the GQP candidates in these races

I thought this entire thread was as funny as hell though, including the dingus suggestion from the former dingus in chief

“Dr. Oz should declare victory. It makes it much harder for them to cheat with the ballots they ‘just happened to find,’” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

I am ashamed but unsurprised that somebody like Mastriano won here in PA. The belief in Trump's stolen election fantasy is strong here and Mastriano regurgitates it like he chugs ipecac 24 hours a day.

Luckily, Josh Shapiro won the Democratic primary and he's not a bad guy. I was impressed with him as Attorney General and he doesn't seem like a rabid progressive. He may have a shot, though disgust with Democrats after Wolf's two terms is also strong here.

I changed my registration to republican so I could vote against the Trump endorsed candidates

68% of the people voted against Oz, so what that means for Nov, time will tell

PA may be the best indicator of how much of an impact the abortion issue will have in 2024 as I expect that to be one of the big campaign effort on both sides for governor

Didn't we already see that movie when Democrat Gov Terry McAuliffe was regurgitating his anti Trumpisms all day every day and Glenn Youngkin kicked his ass to win in Virginia?
I guess the left never learns.

Youngkin also never brought up the 2020 election and invited Radioactive Man to NOT show up to campaign for him...

Who wants to bet this candidate does the same??

Yes. Mastriano won the GOP gubetorial primary. That would give the Democrats an edge in the general election because most independents will not vote for him. Independents may vote for a Democrat instead if they show up at the polls.

Oz winning the Senate is iffy. Helmet Oz is a popular TV doctor who has dabbed into the "alternative medicine" route in promoting his show. However, I have not seen or read anything from him that says he has a grasp of the issues. If that can be exploited, the Democrats may win the Senate Seat.

LOL... what makes you think that matters to MAGA voters??

He's been on TV and they've heard his name... that's how we got a crap POTUS in 2016....

Think about it.... the state AG and the state LG vs a state Senator and a TV "doctor"....grasp of the issues shouldn't remotely be a contest....

Pennsylvania is more than capable of electing a D to both statewide slots....

The Dems would prefer to run against Oz.
He is an amateur who can be portrayed as a carpetbagger.
Plus, flipping the Sen. Seat in PA is a Must for the Dems.

All true, but I find it more interesting that Fetterman crushed Lamb (roasted Lamb?? skewered Lamb??). Even the stroke news didn't seem to make any difference.

I suspect Pa D's thought Lamb could be another closet Manchin, and that's unacceptable...

He's an interesting dude, to say the least... I have no idea what sort of debater he is, but THAT could be the debate of the fall, if he faces the TV doctor... Fetterman should mention Harrisburg, just to watch Oz look confused...

I think this is telling.... with the nomination of this MAGA guy, Sabato's Crystal Ball immediately moved the race from toss-up to leans D...

    Immediately!!

That abortion issue can very well be an intangible for these mid terms, good thought there.

Fetterman would probably win against McCormick, but it would indeed be easier against Oz.

It's not the MAGA voters I am talking about. It's the independents who will vote in November. If Mastriano continues his rhetoric about the 2020 campaign stolen theory, the independents will not vote for him on November 8, 2022 and the Democratic nominee will definitely win. But then again, we may have another "election was stolen" theory by the MAGA voters and Qnon.

For Helmet Oz, if his lead holds, again, the independents in November may not vote for him because he really has no experience on the issues. Yes, he is popular and that gives him the edge right now compared to his Democratic counterpart.

I think the nomination of Mastriano just gave the Democrats the governorship of Pennsylvania. Although one shouldn’t be surprised, the Republicans have had a habit every now and then to nominate someone with little chance of winning in November. They nominate Aiken in Missouri and Mourdock in Indiana for the senate a few years back, only to lose those two races in states the GOP should have been easy winners.

    https://news.yahoo.com/republican-panic-grows-mastriano-wins-124713550.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall

I’d make Fetterman a slight favorite regardless of who wins the GOP primary, Oz or McCormick. With Mastriano at the top of the ticket, he’ll probably entice independents to not only vote for Shapiro, but carry on with a vote for Fetterman. This is a bed of the GOP own making. Especially when winning in the general election becomes secondary or irrelevant in the primaries.

Afghanistan was a disaster leaving Americans behind to terrorist. Inflation is soaring. Gas is at historical highs, Job creation is a joke. Consumer confidence is at its lowest in decades, the left wants to teach CRT and trans a gay sexuality to 5 year olds, China is getting more aggressive in the Taiwan Straits. Our government is printing money hand over fist during the worse inflation in history then sends 40 billion to Ukraine, The border is an absolute historical fiasco. baby formula can't be found unless your an illegal alien, and Biden and Harris have the lowest approval in the history of the office.
And Biden is AWOL on everything.

And you think people are going to overlook all of this because a candidate believes there was fraud in the 2020 election?

You should prepare yourself. Midterms are going to be a bloodbath.

He is?? Why is that, exactly?

He's FAMOUS... that doesn't make him popular...

He's in a recount situation with a man nobody outside of Pennsylvania has ever heard of... doesn't sound like massive popularity to me...

Hearing this story in Pennsylvania today??

If the facts in this story are correct, this sounds like (yet another) tiny case of (GOP) election fraud...

    SNIP
A 66-year-old retired credit analyst in Marion, Pa., was caught off-guard in Pennsylvania's primary Tuesday when the Democrat was given a Republican ballot instead of one for her party.

About that time, she heard another man speak to poll workers, she said.

"He asked the same question: 'Why are there no Democrats on this ballot?'" said Hildebrand.

Hildebrand said the poll worker told the man that only Republican candidates could be voted for on Tuesday and that the Democratic primary would be on a different day.

Still unsure what to do, Hildebrand said she voted for the Republicans she felt had the least chance of winning and pinned her hopes on being able to vote in a Democratic primary on a later day.

Sure, the lady is kind of dumb for accepting that, but that's no excuse, is it??

Americans have to be truly prepared for more creative GOP efforts to cheat in 2022 and beyond....

Remind us all again what happened in Virginia when the left chanted their Trump fraud at every Democrat rally?
So glad the left has this learning deficiency to continue to do the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Non sequitur deflection post. The vast majority of 2020 voter fraud was committed by Trump supporters. Sorry but the facts are on my side of this.

Screaming anti Trumpisms or trying to align candidates with Trump isn't going to work in November.
    That cake is already baked.
