Why are Latter day Saint missionaries so nice????

Well, actually, it was a joke.

 

I lol’ed.

 

Mormons excel at taking care of their own. I won't pretend there's not wealthy mormons who get wealthy by skimming from the church's internal social safety nets, but when Mormons fall on hard times, the church helps them back out (as long as they're in good standing with the church, of course). And to be fair, its not like the people that manage our public social safety nets arent getting rich off it too...

 

I personally never met an unpleasant LDS until I met my partner's family I didn't know that existed.

But every one of them I've ever interacted with before that pretty friendly and the ones that interacted with after that also pretty friendly.

I knew a lot of them back when I was working in the boy scouts

 

I think it's mostly part of their upbringing. Most of the ex-Mormons I know are exceedingly polite like that, so I don't think it is just motivated by wanting to convert people.

 

Well any bible based religion will have adults teaching kids to be mild tempered, grateful for the things they receive, hardworking and forgiving. It’s the qualities that the bible urges all people to have.
