I was just reading an article the other day that it would have been cheaper, based on what little (thank goodness) actually was built, to just stack $100 bills as high as the wall all along the boarder.

I told you he was using you. How much of the money you've sent him went to proving his big lie? NOT A DIME.

Depends on if you can stop making threads about how the left and liberals are evil.

So you are equating a peaceful march as an attack? Good lord almighty.

From historical records, "June 17 was described by a local newspaper as "the tensest day in the capital since the war." The Senate was voting on the bill already passed by the House to immediately give the vets their bonus money. By dusk, 10,000 marchers crowded the Capitol grounds expectantly awaiting the outcome. Walter Waters, leader of the Bonus Expeditionary Force, appeared with bad news. The Senate had defeated the bill by a vote of 62 to 18. The crowd reacted with stunned silence. "Sing America and go back to your billets" he commanded, and they did. A silent "Death March" began in front of the Capitol and lasted until July 17, when Congress adjourned.

A month later, on July 28, Attorney General Mitchell ordered the evacuation of the veterans from all government property, Entrusted with the job, the Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two marchers were killed. Learning of the shooting at lunch, President Hoover ordered the army to clear out the veterans. Infantry

Troops prepare to evacuate the Bonus Army July 28, 1932 and cavalry supported by six tanks were dispatched with Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur in command. Major Dwight D. Eisenhower served as his liaison with the Washington police and Major George Patton led the cavalry." Yeah, what an epic attack there.

The point is they're not letting those "peaceful marchers" anywhere near the building.

There are multiple levels of barricades that extend all the way into the parking lot.

We've already heard stories of what's happening in other places where barricades do not exist.

(Oops, your media probably doesn't keep you informed about that)

That line of propaganda doesn’t take into account the hundreds of miles of wall that replaced existing “barriers” such as a barbed wire fence, vehicle barriers useless vs pedestrians, and sections of scrap tin that any vehicle could knock down, or even wood fences. All of that crap replaced by real cement and steel barriers 18-30’ high much with roads, cameras, and motion detectors. None of all that construction counted as “new”and we are glad it was done.

I know you didn't mean to but you just revealed why the #1 reason The Wall was a bad, self defeating idea. Our Southern Boarder is some of the most inhospitable terrain on earth, I've cowboy-ed throughout the Southwest ... I know that to be true, first hand. To build a wall across our Southern Boarder would require a road to be built, just to build the wall. So the very act of building The Wall would make inaccessible land very accessible. The "Wall" was was a very expensive, self defeating, BAD idea. The United States is far better off and much more secure without it.

Washington DC in 1932 was more open than today. Those peaceful demostrators were literally camping on federal land at or near the capital without all the buildings and museums that we know today.

    Here is a good picture
    [IMG]

Their camps were in the Anacostia flats, which is a swampy, muddy area along the Anacostia River. Considering that Washington DC is ten square miles, it had a lot of open space for camps like the Bonus Army. And in those days, a walk of a couple of miles, about two hours or so, was normal in those days.

We have begun putting up barricades first along the White House because of terroristic threats. We also began, after the Timothy McVeigh terrorist attack in Oklahoma City, began to make federal buildings more secure. After 9/11, we began other intensive security screening at airports, among other things, with the Department of Homeland Security bill and the Patriot Act all providing the necessary law to do so, not to mention the funding in the budgets. With million-person marches and a limited number of police officers, and the popularity of the internet, it was bound to happen. But not in 1932, considering we were in the Great Depression and Congress renigged giving the Veterans benefits passed by Congress in 1919 after WW1 from a grateful government.

Or have you NOT been paying attention for the last two decades or so?

The big lie is you telling us "stack $100 bills as high as the wall" actually makes sense. It must not take much to entertain you...

Poop, "I" said I read it in an article. I could have misquoted or the author was exaggerating to make his point. The FACT IS the wall would be prohibitively expensive AND self defeating. Building a road, to build the wall, would turn inaccessible country into very accessable country. If you've ever been there you'd know it doesn't take a genius to realize that. OH, I forgot, this is a Donald Jenius tRump plan.

The road parallels the wall and leads to nothing other than already existing roads. The wall was not built along much of that most “inhospitable” part of the border. The completed portions funnels illegals to such openings with no roads, shelter, shade, or food and water for dozens of miles in any direction from the border.

Actually nothing could be further from the truth. Conservatives are the least hateful among the people of America. It is progressives who are filled with rage and hate toward those who won’t agree with them.

Y’all literally rioted and burned peoples businesses, homes, churches and towns down FOR OVER AND ENTIRE MONTH.

And you have the audacity to continue to talk about ONE riot by the righ that lasted a grand total of a few hours?

And that’s why people think your posts are jokes.
