I continually find it amazing just how often Trump haters claim that Trump is SOOOOO stupid. And yet in the same breath they'll tell you how he planned an insurrection riot for months. Avoided being caught in a conspiracy of working with the Russians in 2016 and SOOOO many other things.

What's funny is that they've been warned that they need to stop harping about Trump, by one of their own, and yet they continually harp on Trump.

Trust me, its not going to work. The People are tired of hearing about him. They're more concerned with Ukraine, economics, and our border than Trump.

They don't get it, but it's fun to watch.

Your first paragraph is completely untrue.

January 6th might turn out to be just as important as the war in Ukraine if Jan 6th looks like it might escalate to nuclear, or if it bankrupts the country.

While it's true there would have been no Jan 6th without Trump's two months of aggressive marketing for his election fraud fantasy, trying to pin the entire thing on him is stupid. He certainly played his role, and in the overall scheme of events that culminated in that day, he probably does deserve the most blame out of all involved. But the blame due for the incidents that day falls more on to the rioters that breached the building. Metaphorically speaking, it was Trump who gathered the crowds, provided the gasoline, and handed out the matches, but it was the rioters who struck them alight and it was the rioters who eventually took things into their own hands. Trump was impotent at that point, as the fire he helped create raged beyond his control and his own ego stayed his hand from even trying to mitigate it beyond a token tweet or two.

I partially agree. I dissent on...

    1. It was much longer than 2 months (Election Day to January 6, 2021). He started gaslighting his base claiming if he lost, it could only be due to fraud, in late Spring 2020.
    2. He lead the rioters to that place and time for that purpose and they were so sure that he had their backs, they outed themselves all over the internet in the following days/weeks.
    3. He outright refused to get back-up for the Capitol police officers (his duty).
    4. Since that time, he has defended their "Hang Pence" chants and has said they didn't do anything wrong.

To this day, he has never acknowledged the five dead and hundreds of injured Capitol police officers or the trauma suffered by many of our lawmakers he neglected that day. So, while the rioters clearly are culpable, they are also victims in this situation as well. They trusted him and believed in him. They were doing what they thought was right based on him lying straight to their faces. So, maybe Trump University wasn't a total scam. He's taught millions of people not to trust a damn thing he says. Too bad several hundred of them had to learn that on the other side of prison walls.

The obsesssiveness exists for one reason: A lack of a national agenda. They can't even get crap passed in their own party-controlled chambers(ie: they have majority vote.) Sure, is that majority as large as they'd like? Of course not, but it's still a majority and they're working as well with this majority as they worked in 2012-2016.

They need excuses not only to remain in power, but also excuses to give to the most devout of the democratic voters as to why said agenda hadn't been fulfilled yet.

Biden to squarely blame Trump for Jan. 6 assault

Predictable. Why is he waiting? He can't even get his blaming right.

Back in the day, Nixon said he thought Charlie Manson guilty and caught all sorts of hell for it.

We can avoid this entire problem by convicting Trump of insurrection so he can't run again. If that means he will also be in jail that is icing on the cake. We have more than enough for any jury or judge to convict him hands down. It is time to end this long national nightmare and begin repairing the system that gave Trump to us.

How about Biden do his job instead of blaming everyone else and diverting to Trump?
