    His specific proposals will undoubtedly come in due course. He sits in the United States Senate and the process will be determined by the institution and the political realities his proposal faces. His job is to make the constituents of Connecticut happy with his floor speeches not an Alabama NRA apologist like you.

    You, Bluesguy, are just the sort that epitomizes why nothing gets done in Washington about these mass shootings, not him. Among the last people on the planet to give Senator Murphy a lecture in form on the Senate floor, would be you. He's not going to give you and your ilk 'a head's-up' with a preview!

    That's not true. I saw some woman with a microphone at some rally telling all these women to "go out and get an abortion" and they all cheered.

    An identification system or no access to these premises would be good. And I think having armed security staff is not the bad thing that people fear(of course it could be as deadly as the stranger), but you can actually vet these security guards for any extremist ties or ideology before hiring them. And of course training on deescalation, etc.

    Of course as always I cite the switzerland laws, the idea of military training and disicipline before being armed will reduce this violence greatly IMO.

    This kid was over 18 and bought his own stuff. He had no prior arrests. Tell me how "securing things at home" or "enhanced background checks" would have prevented anything.

    If this is your measuring stick, I guarantee you that lax liberal laws that let murderers out and let illegals come in are killing more kids than anything a Republican is supporting. Hell, you could just count deaths due to fentanyl this year and that should cover things for a few decades.

    You'll probably find this scary too..... Many Americans were born and raised in the country and we grew up with many different guns starting with BB guns and have owned and shot firearms are entire lives and never killed anyone.
