There has been some developments. Earlier the cops said the shooter was engaged upon entering the school. Then they walked back on the claim saying he went into the school without confrontation. Apparently, 40% of the town's budget goes to the police, and they couldn't break through the door and had to get a school official to unlock it for them.

 

The fact that they did not act sooner? Yes that is their fault.

The timeline is still unclear, but early reports suggests he entered the school and immediately locked himself in the classroom and started shooting the kids. I'm sure the official statement will be to follow protocol and secure the scene, but he was there for an hour before the classroom was breached by the police. Time is of the essence and many children died from blood loss at the hospital. If you aren't going to engage the shooter ASAP and rescue those kids, then when?
