Your continued insistence about derailing the thread to make it about other people not involved in the OP's post.

In fact, most Democrats have indicated they would prefer that kind of black swan event to a Trump presidency. Blind partisan hate is not good for their mental health.

At this point it is hard to understand why anyone would blindly trust any priest, preacher, doctor, lawyer, teacher ...

Verify then trust -- if you must.

You should know better than that by now. ;-)

"“According to a poll from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, 64% of Democratic voters would rather see ‘a giant meteor strike the Earth, extinguishing all human life’ than President Trump re-elected,” reports The Week. “The poll, conducted Jan. 28–31, also shows about half of Independent voters would say the same extreme thing.”

The existential mindset breaks down strictly along class lines, with a full 69% of those making under $50,000 a year approving of Armageddon over Trump’s re-election, compared to just 49% of those who make more than $100,000 a year."
THE DAILY WIRE, POLL: 64% Of New Hampshire Democrats Would Rather ‘A Meteor Strike The Earth And Extinguish All Human Life’ Than See Trump Re-Elected, By Paul Bois, FEBRUARY 7TH, 2020.

What’s interesting is that y’all accuse liberals of grooming children because they want to teach tolerance and acceptance yet the right wing is funneling a sizable percent of their income to religious organizations that openly rape children and then hide the guilty party.

Such a fascinating array of mental gymnastics and projection.

First...as a strong Southern Baptist...I believe this writer has animosity beyond the abuse. He obviously has issues with traditional Southern Baptist beliefs and the article is most definitely one sided.

I heard about this when our convention was brought it up. Glad the steps were taken to bring everything out in open.

Southern Baptist churches have total autonomy and is not under a single control...which mean a data base is not possible unless churches decide to be a part of it. SB churches can differ in foundational beliefs and the only control Southern Baptist organization can do is drop them from the mailing list. So again...an organized data base is not realistic if we have an unorganized system.

Child predators are anywhere children gather---schools, churches, child oriented activity organizations like boy scouts. Public school teachers are always in the news for this.

Hopefully bringing it all in open will promote background policies and awareness. In my church ANYONE working with kids in ANY capacity must have routine background checks. It should be mandatory for any organization working with kids.

You probably should have an issue with sexual abuse as opposed to trying to defend it.

Yes. Shame on them for trying to cover it up.

    Good. Agreed.

I was a member of a church and thought the pastor was awesome. Full of energy, excellent communicator, funny, etc. One day he was exposed for having affairs with some of the women in the church and he was forced to resign, which he did, but he stole lot of money from the church before disappearing. It pretty much destroyed the church. It was non-denominational. The last I heard, the church was reborn as a black church with a great pastor and full all the time. Good for them, I suppose.

Your critical thinking skills are on par with the spelling skills.
