Especially the ones that do not even live in our country and swoop in like a vulture feasting on the remains

What good is a mental health system and a "for profit" criminal justice - whatever that is - if there aren't sociopathic kids? The problem is that we don't identify them and get them treatment. So I would say "we" are the problem - whoever "we" are.

They failed in their duty to be sure. But keeping unarmed parents from rushing an armed killer was the right thing to do.

    Here is a survivor:

By now everyone should know that when seconds or minutes count don't count on the police for at least an hour.

P.S. Also, I'm not Monday morning quarterbacking.

My ex kidnapped our two children in 2017. Prior to that, our son went missing (wasn't on the school bus). I went to the school to find out the bus number and route they take so I could go to each stop and find my son. They called the cops and he tried to block me from exiting the building once I received the route information I needed.

I told him "Either you can drive me this route or get the hell out of my way." There is NO way in hell he could have stopped me. Hey, it was up to him. Either we make the news or you back the hell up. His choice. He made a good one and got to go home instead of an ER.

I have no interest in going to Italy or France. I also have no interest in your unsubstantiated opinions. I’ve presented evidence, you have presented unsubstantiated opinions. I’m open to any evidence you can provide that refutes my links (two different sources). But your opinions are mostly easily shown to be incorrect so I’m not taking your word for anything at this point.

And I certainly have no interest in going to Japan to participate in your strawman manufacturing scheme. I have zero interest in engaging with your logical fallacies. :)

The best information available says 11 kids were wounded and survived. Two arrived at the hospital deceased but someone must have believed they were alive after the shooter was killed. It’s impossible to know how many people expired in the 40 minutes or so before victims were attended to. Since bleed out is one of the most common causes of death from gunshot we could speculate the number isn’t zero.

It’s reported some of the kids were wounded by bullet fragments. There is no information on how many were shot directly and survived.

Assuming the shooter was using “ball” FMJ ammunition a gunshot to a limb of a child or a shot missing a vital organ would be more likely to be survivable because kids are so small ball ammunition would be less likely to destabilize and tumble/fragment than in an adult. This would result in smaller wound channel (less bleeding) and less transfer of energy (shock).

Gunshots aren’t magic. In my business every shot is calculated to kill as quickly as possible. Yet some animals almost defy death it seems. Movies do gunshots a disservice. They either blow a guy across the room and produce instant death (the bad guy) or they make a guy limp for 45 seconds (the good guy). Neither are accurate. Unless the central nervous system is deactivated, gunshots take time to result in death. Even heart/lung shots. It’s a nasty business and time is definitely a factor in survivability.

You're confusing criminals with sick people. Making guns readily available to sick people makes it all worse. That's why we have more mass murderers in the US than the rest of the world combined, several times over.

How exactly do you go around rounding up all the “sick” people?

Are you saying that you don't know what a for-profit business is?
    Which is my point.
Only you can define it. It's your assertion.

Again Japan is 9 to ten years older than than we are on average, and didn't have a significant number of mass killings before gun control, same is true for most of Europe.

~ This has happened before with shooting situations in closed quarters. Apparently there is a lack of procedures to deal with this circumstance .
Maybe the kids should have guns themselves .. ? It appears they may do a better job.

I'm honestly trying to understand this situation but it makes no sense. My kids were required to have shooter drills all throughout elementary school and high school.

I am especially concerned about this because this kid was apparently known to law enforcement for planning an earlier attack against this school.

Someone posted a link to an article that quotes his grandfather (with whom he lived) who apparently has something on his record in that he can't have weapons in his home. He claims the boy didn't have a DL or vehicle.

NONE of the above adds up.

~ I agree. But remember 9-11 ... Warning signs were everywhere . Clinton was advised about BinLaden ; the aviation school notified authorities about the suspicious ' pilot ' who only wanted to learn steering and acceleration ; federal agencies did not communicate with each other . One F '- up after another.
:worry: Welcome to the ' New' America ! Wear your filthy mask and get injected with mystery medicine as instructed. Feel guilty about your heritage , confused about your own sexuality and depend on Big Brother Government to tell you what is and isn't .
Our elected officials will take care of everything ... :blowkiss: :rage:

So you think that the US has more sick people than the rest of the world combined, eh?
I love the backward somersaults people go through to excuse the diarrhea of guns in the US.
All under the pretext that they need guns to fight the evil gubmint.
Tell that to the Ukrainians who are depending on other governments giving them wmds just to stay afloat against the Russian onslaught.
Their puny automatic weapons are no match against a government war machine.
You better hope the Russians or the Chinese are prepared to supply you with wmds to fight the US if the military comes to wipe you out.

You people would do better assuming your civic duties and electing honest people to offices rather than wallowing in your ‘own the libs’ extremist bullshit that has brought this country seditious quislings like trump and hate-mongering idiots like mtg and the rest of the maga gang, and turned the repub party into cowardly lapdogs for a malignant narcissist.
