Yes his "Negative Income" which he later back away from stating he underestimate the greed and willingness of people to not work when they get free money and that as opposed to his small NIT that would replace all other forms of welfare the government plopped the EITC on top of other welfare. Many economist lay this on such programs.

An Unconditional Basic Minimum Income could help guys to feel less hopelessness in terms of their economic future....which could assist many more of them
to be more willing to take on the economic responsibilities associated with having a family.

My 2 cents on the evil of congress et al, the longer they are in it, the more "evil" they succumb to. Looking at it another way, only the "evil" one survive and last. Sadly, it's the nature of people and corruption together.

 

Remember that in Italian "Pelosi" means "hairy" ...
Frankly speaking when I heard about Pelosi for the first time I thought ... "UH? A hairy woman?".
But then I realized it was her surname [in Italy there are well worse surnames!].

Anyway, I'm Protestant, but I live in Italy, so that I do know the Catholic Church and its "habits".
Communion is denied if you "leave" the Catholic rules. For example if you divorce a parish priest can deny you the Communion [obviously if you're Catholic and you go to a Catholic church].

So, I'm not surprised about this.
Abortion is a homicide [even if related to a "potential" individual: what if your mother decided to abort when YOU were a "potential" individual? I wonder ...] so a real Christian [not only a Catholic: let's not give a medal to the Vatican!] cannot accept it. Period.

 

If they are going to deny her communion, they should deny communion to every politician who supports the death penalty. But it's not like we can expect any kind of consistency here.
