…"Police said a woman who was lawfully carrying a pistol shot and killed a man who began shooting at a crowd of people Wednesday night in Charleston," location Fox 11 reported about the incident. "Dennis Butler was killed after allegedly shooting at dozens of people attending a graduation party Wednesday near the Vista View Apartment complex. No injuries were reported from those at the party. Investigators said Butler was warned about speeding in the area with children present before he left. He later returned with an AR-15-style firearm and began firing into the crowd before he was shot and killed."

Police described the woman as "running toward the threat," saving lives.

The story comes as Democrats in Washington D.C. seek to curtail self defense rights for law abiding citizens….

This woman is a hero. She ran toward danger. She took out a man with a rifle wiry a concealed carry pistol.

 

This woman is truly a great American and a true hero.

 

This does happen, but when the bad guy is taken out quickly there is no "mass shooting" hence, little coverage shows up. The media LOVES to sell fear as can be seen here with all the pearl-clutching, child waving, panic mongering.

 

I can tell the woman wasn't a cop she did run from gunfire.

She did not run from gun fire. She ran to it and heroically took the perp out.

Someone who is obviously intent on shooting as many people as possible with a rifle because they had a little mad.... Was stopped by a woman with a gun.

So one lady takes a dude out in one town and the rightists wants everyone to believe that the entire Country, if armed, will all be John Wayne at all times?

 

How about an object lesson? I worked less than two miles away, and my mother and aunt worked in the building next to where this happened...

A local resident, Mark Alan Wilson, was in his downtown loft when he heard the shooting begin. He looked out his window and saw Arroyo at the courthouse steps engaged in a shootout with law enforcement. Wilson, who held a Texas concealed handgun permit, immediately armed himself with his Colt .45 caliber pistol, and left his residence to intervene in the gun battle. Because Arroyo was already engaged in a heated gun battle with sheriff's deputies and Tyler police officers, he did not see Wilson approach from behind.

As Wilson approached Arroyo from behind, Arroyo was taking aim at his son whom he had already shot in the leg and wounded. Acting to defend the life of Arroyo's son, Wilson fired a round from approximately 50 feet, which struck Arroyo in the back, causing him to stumble and taking his attention away from his son. A witness who saw Wilson's round strike Arroyo reported seeing "white puffs of powder-like substance" come from Arroyo's clothing. This is believed to be the first time Arroyo was hit or injured during his attack on the courthouse.

Wilson was forced to take cover behind Arroyo's truck in a prone position and exchanged fire with Arroyo. As Arroyo began to approach Wilson's position, he stood up from behind cover and fired again, hitting Arroyo. Unknown to Wilson, Arroyo was wearing a bulletproof vest, rendering Wilson's shots ineffective. Arroyo eventually fired a shot that struck Wilson, who faltered and fell from the view of witnesses, face down behind Arroyo's truck. Arroyo then walked up to Wilson and fired three more shots at him, killing him.[2]

The comment was in response to another poster saying that FOX was not MSM. I replied that it was MSM as well as a propaganda arm of the far right. Context is always relevant. In addition I had pointed out to you that the OP was by Townhall not FOX. please read the posts I quote as well as my responses before responding with some preconceived idea.

 

The article was on Town Hall’s news and opinion site but written by a regular Fox News contributor. No, Fox News is not the MSM.

My opinion is well informed and indisputable (especially re Fox being MSM), not so sure about Townhall blog.

 

Seems like with our resident liberals anything to distract from the topic but to discuss the actual topic itself.

They really don't want you to know that guns are effective self-defense tools. They want you to be afraid of them and beg Big Daddy government to come and strip you of your property and your rights.
