We may have a point of agreement here. When the Constitution was written and for most of our history an 18 year old was a responsible adult. Now young people in their 20s live at home, are incapable of holding down a job, demand free college, etc. and seem to lack the maturity of an adult.

So, perhaps today an adult should be defined as 25 or older. I believe 26 was the age that Obamacare said individuals would have to get their own health insurance and not be insured by their parents policy as a child. So Obama considered a 25 year old to be a non-adult So I would support limiting the purchase of guns to someone at least 25 with exception made for younger people with military service.

 

You have to meet certain conditions, then obtain a Driver's License, sounds more like a privilege than a right.

Other than to say that the principles of the French Revolution had been discussed and decided in général during the years prior to 1789 including Rousseau and de Montesquieu as well as Locke during the Enlightenment, which was the seedbed of the overthrow of Louis 16th. Itcestablishzd individual freedom and à different relationship between citizen and state. The USA was just another place where these ideas took hold.

You all want to include accidents and suicides in overall gun deaths, then you have to accept auto fatalities the same way.
