Banks keeping cash in a teller drawer is part of the bank robbery problem, so can I suppose you want to outlaw or ban that practice, too?
I'm not determining the cost. I'm just demonstrating that it would be VERY expensive. Certainly, if you factor in all the other differences, it proves it would be even MORE expensive. But.... so what? My one and only point was that guns may still exist, but they would be too rare to be used in any of the activities we want to reduce like mass shootings, home invasion, ... assaulting somebody jogging in the park... etc.
Yeesh. You estimated the cost of a smuggled gun by comparing it to the cost of the same weight of cocaine. That does not make any sense. This is not that difficult. It is a simple concept. I swear it seems like whenever it is correctly pointed out that you said something incorrect, you just start throwing around sand so that no one can see. I do not believe this is an accident on your part. You become obtuse only when it suits you.
Yes!!!! Don't you get it? I don't CARE what the cost is. Just wanted to prove that it would be very expensive. And you proved it's probably even MORE expensive than I thought. God! This has to be the mother of all strawman... What a waste of time!
You dont care about the cost, which is precisely why you compared it to the same weight in cocaine eh Mr. Obtuse?
Well I don't think this time is going to be different and that you're going to get to band guns or do whatever moronic thing that won't work you want to do. We just like every other time people rent and rave and say we should do these things and nobody will do anything and it'll happen again same thing then too.
Saying that, or rebutting my arguments.... Clearly the latter proves to be more difficult, doesn't it?
32% of Americans own guns. 44% live in a home with a gun in it. LINK: What Percentage of Americans Own Guns? (gallup.com) That is over 81 million Americans that own a gun btw. And I'd bet that number is under reported.
If 81 million households had one gun each, there would be 81 million guns. However, there are almost 400 million guns in the US. So my proposition of Pareto's law holds. Gun ownership is dominated by a small minority, who have a stash, in other words, those are obsessed with guns. The US represents 4% of the world population, but they own more than 40% of the world's guns. So, we are numero uno, also with respect to gun deaths. Winning... This reminds me of the Green Day song American Idiot....
