Some gun related questions for liberals:

A point- Murder laws only apply penalties to the criminals that murder. Gun laws are designed and limited to imposing on and making criminals of law-abiding citizens, and clearly violating the 2nd amendment, which clearly states their rights shall not be infringed. Big, big difference.

We already have many gun restrictions, yet the problem of criminal use of guns (or just crime overall) is increasing.
At the same time- we have pressures to defund and reduce police forces, and major failures to pursue prosecution of the criminals the police arrest.
Who benefits from a disarmed public? Criminals. Do gun owners object to strong prosecutions of criminal use of guns? No- they favor it. The same people undermining the laws that control criminals are the people trying to push more gun control. A smart person has to ask- Why would they do that?

You don't have to be very smart to connect a reduction in enforcement to an increase in crime.

 

Which ones?

The only PD's defunded were two, that I know of both were extremely corrupt and only defended after many attempts to reform them.

Here you have a point, there is a misguided effort to attack guns instead of the people that misuse them. But the first has stopped reasonable law that would address the lack of education and mental health resouces that could actually help the situation.

What enforcement? Nice sentence, very boiler plate RW, but it doesn't say a damn thing worthwhile.

 

I was talking about someone trying to kill a lots of peoples grandchildren at once. If your grandchild is in that group the child would be more likely to survive if the killer did not have a semi automatic and had a knife?

I think they are supervised and trained while in the military. I also think they are prohibited from carring a gun they own on a military base, and unless they are on duty they are forbidden from having their assigned weapon in public.

There are restrictions that are constitutional; the constitution says people may own guns, it does not say thay can use them any way they want.

 

I don't think airport like security would be necessary to solve the problem. Perimeter fences with single ingress points would likely suffice.

 

That's, if you man the entrance and check ID's - and if you don't why bother, is "airport security".

I'm sure you have noticed the several threads around here about the woman who recently stopped a guy with a rifle from opening fire into a crowd with...... You guessed it! A pistol.

You do know the majority of full sized pistols can hold 10 rounds and go bang just as fast as you can pull the trigger right? Same exact function as an AR just a few less bullets.

 

Many conservatives grew up with guns and know better.

Though I did know a black fellow who was a retired special forces guy that used to come over to my friend's house and we'd all be sitting around the table and he always kept a loaded pistol and he was pretty damn careless with the muzzle. Made me nervous. Oddly enough he had accidentally shot himself twice in his life. He was a good man and I enjoyed his company though I didn't know him too long because he's passed on now. Not from a gunshot either by the way. But he would cheat at farkle if you did not watch him!

And a couple of my friends used to work at the local pawn shop and when they showed guns they were pretty damn careless with the muzzle and when I mentioned that to them they said well none of them are loaded.

That does not matter.... You always treat all guns as if they're loaded cuz they may very well be.

I have a question for the gun grabbers....

Why would you deny people and their families the effective means to self-defense just so you can feel "safe" ?

When the same politicians who want to ban guns no longer enjoy the protection of people with guns then maybe I'll begin to listen maybe...

The police do not have a duty or an obligation to protect you and they are often arriving just in time to clean up the aftermath... You and your family's safety is your personal responsibility

I have been going to the same range for most of my life. I noticed a change when libs started buying guns. I do have quite a few liberal friends and was happy to help them learn safety and marksmanship.

I was kidding about the "Hillary" sticker. When they pull up in their Prius, the sticker is not necessary.
