There is also no doubt, would a RW smear outlet publish similar content about AOC, that righties would believe every word of it.

That's why negative campaigning works, it reinforces the pre-existing beliefs of the moral deficiencies of the opposition, while bad news about the own side is easily dismissed as "fake".

It's easy to make people believe something they already want to believe or are predisposed to believing, something that is true no matter which side of America's political aisle you are on. There is no doubt this would have worked almost exactly the same had this group been targeting a left-wing politician. Sure, some right-wingers would be skeptical, just as some left-wingers are about this, but many would buy it hook, line, and sinker because it tickles their pre-existing biases.

 

Sure looks like they ARE conservative. They go after populist hacks like Boebert and Madison Cawthorn in order promote better Republican candidates. Sure enough, their work in GOP primaries resulted in Madison Cawthorn being beaten by another Republican Chuck Edwards. Likewise, they are after Boebert so she'd lose her GOP primaries, and her challenger Don Coram (R) would win .
