You gave me one way and the criminal action would be allowing the transfer of ownership of a firearm without running a NICS and filling out a 4473.
So you think there are two Americas and you don't care about the one you are not in.

I think I am tired of being told my rights and the rights of most Americans should be forfeited because one group causes most of the violent gun crime. And criminals don't fill out background checks now-no more than drug addicts have prescriptions for Fentanyl and Cocaine

So you think it is unnecessary for an FFL to be required to run NICS and form 4473 filled out to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and nuts? You don't seem to want to do anything to keep guns out of the hands of the lawless because it is mostly a problem for a certain demographic.

it doesn't do any good-especially since there has been a complete failure of the federal government to actually prosecute those who lie on form 4473. Left-wingers have complained that these laws mainly result in blacks being jailed. I want violent felons who are caught packing sent to jail. I pushed and was part of the DOJ that implemented GWB's program that sent felons with guns to the US Attorneys' offices for federal prosecution, where the mopes got more time Leftwing groups such as the NAACP objected since most of those caught were black

Background checks determine if it is illegal for someone to buy a gun, according to the law.
That is, there's no "may issue" function here - you're able to legally buy a gun, or not.
If you are not a prohibited person, no amount of background check will prevent you from getting a gun.
When the Second Amendment’s plain text covers an individual’s conduct, the Constitution preemptively protects that conduct. To justify its regulation, the government may not simply posit that the regulation promotes an important interest. Rather, the government must demonstrate that the regulation is consistent with this Nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation
    So... good luck with that.

If a legal gun owner sold a gun to person who lied on 4473 and then it was used in a crime, the seller would not be liable, but the buyer would be charged additionally with lying on the form which may be an additional 10 years in prison.

I understand your point. I'm a gun owner as well and when I'm furious with my neighbor I don't tend to take a rifle :machinegun:!
Overall because I'm a sniper  ... One shot one kill, that's my philosophy.

Anyway, the diffusion of war weapons increases the social risk. Why in some states they cannot have a beer before of 21?
Because they drive ... and a car is a potential deadly vehicle if driven by a drunk driver without experience.
My father has been a truck driver for 40 years and he drunk [beer and whiskey] without problem. He has never recorded an accident.
But statistics are statistics. If you drink a couple of whiskeys it's better for you not to drive a truck.

If you are emotionally unstable it's better for you not to own a firearm.

P.S. I'm considering the idea to buy a Remington [ordering it on Amazon].
What do you think about the 700 Police SS 5R MILSPEC 223REM?

It's a really old fashion carbine. But I find it fascinating!

You gonna give the gun to the kid posting on social media he's gonna murder his grandmother and as many ten year olds as he can? The guy who just threatened to kill his boss/wife/congressman?

Lol, you act like there have never been restrictions on firearm ownership, right after admitting that certain people can't if they don't pass the background check.

    Cognitive dissonance.

Yeah, I used the word "may" counselor and I hope they don't do that much time, but you are avoiding the issue, #7's universal background check would greatly dissuade legal gun owners from selling to illegal gun owners because there would be consequences. Most all guns start their social contact by being obtained by legal gun owners before they get into illegal hands.

I like the idea of enhancing the sentences of those nabbed committing crimes against person; kill someone, get dwan and quartered,

Add to the dran and quarter category, convicted poedifiles, though of course sentenced to time with Big Benny isn’t bad , considering what convicts think of poedifiles....Line up.

Do these things make you, under the law,a prohibited person?
    No?
If you are not a prohibited person, no amount of background check will prevent you from getting a gun.
Lol you avoid the point made because you know you have nothing with which to address it.
    Anti-gun ignorance, bigotry, irrational fear.

    No Amendment is absolute.
Hence why I say rights are really privileges. Just have special mentions in some document claiming them rights. But without an enforcement mechanism, they don't exist. Just the same as privileges.

Do you feel the same about automatic rifles? They are infringed upon.

and that is improper. especially in light of the Miller decision

you pretend that because the government violates our rights, that justifies you supporting additional violations

you keep missing the real point. the federal government is properly able to exercise powers only where it was properly delegated such power. where it was not-the right of the people or power of the states are absolute

why don't you do some research and tell me how many criminals get their guns by buying them from legal owners who do not know the buyer is a mope

I miss no point. I do note when hypocrisy is being played.
As you are for infringements yourself. Which is outright wrong per the 2A. If one were to use it explicitly. But hardly anyone does, yourself included.

You think States could ban arms outright. Per 10A and 14A.

I don't know if you are dodging the idea or don't understand it. Most all firearms from a manufacturer come into civilian use through an FFL to a legal gun owner. The idea is to continue legal gun ownership. If there is a transfer of ownership the public would have available an online NICS and 4473 record of the transaction and it would be illegal not to do that, to prevent transfer to illegal hands.

and if we made heroin addicts have a prescription, there would no overdoses . It's already illegal for a felon to possess a firearm

Heroin comes into the country illegally. Do guns? Apparently, you do not understand the concept. We need to prevent them from obtaining a firearm in the first place. The casual transfer of firearms like on armslist.com needs to be regulated, even though that does effect your "demographic".
The criminality that ensues does not effect your demographic so why do anything about it?
