All military specialists say that the war will go on for à long time. It will cost a lot if money when countries are struggling post Covid. It will unbalance essential energy and food supplies, already felt in Africa. It will upset international trade routes . Are you in favour of committing to all that in order to stop à dictatorial, répressive force in Europe?
The sad part is the war will kill many innocents. It's sad to see a man wage war and see the killing of women and children. We can't imagine the horror the mothers must be experiencing trying to feed their children and keep them safe. But the West should not do more than the countries of the East. Europe needs to lead the way in stopping the Russian invasion.
Many Western European nations, especially UK, Finland and Baltic nations are getting used to the idea of having to fight and defeat Russian military, which is why they are helping now while the war is still in Ukraine.
Well, it seems the US has decided to both attack the Ukraine, continuing to support the high cost of barrel oil to continue to fund the Russian aggression. And at the same time, send billions of dollars to support the Ukrainians in their battle with the Russians. The west is pumping something like a billion dollars a week into the Russian coffers. The real question is when do we suppose the west will pull their financial support from the Russians? I doubt it will happen. Democrats/Biden believe in punishing folks, why not have it be the Ukrainians. They did, after all, so humiliate both his son and his family....
The West has caused this mess by ignoring Russia's concerns and arming the Nazis in Ukraine. Like Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan and all the rest, we have absolutely no national interest there. Yeah sure, the Grifters Biden have money there and make money there, but the country we live in has no interest there. Except of course the military industrial complex.
We should go as far as necessary. Russia could end it at any time, eventually it will end Russia if they don't.
My position was and is still- arm as many Ukrainian civilians as possible with civil defense weaponry- battle rifles and AT4s, and let them each decide whether they prefer to fight Russia or join Russia. IDGAF where the borders end up. If everyone is armed, they can choose their fate as well as any of us, and that's what matters. This is my default position for foreign conflict across the board, btw. Not just Ukraine.
No, those are the historical facts. McCain, Obama, Nuland and the entire Military Industrial Complex have laid the groundwork in 2014 for what we have today. They ignored the Minsk Agreement and much more. We are war mongers in Washington DC. Joe Biden has never met a war he didn't like, especially when there is $ in it for him and his grifting family members.
As I wrote in 27th February "Russia will not withdraw just because they lose some troops. It will end when either Russia is given some of Ukrainian land or Putin loses support from his population. Ukraine cannot win on the battlefield" The captured lands such as Donbass should be made neutral independent territories. Continually arming Ukraine is pointless and only will result in more flattening of Ukrainian towns and many more deaths on both sides
Arming Ukraine isn't resulting in flattening of Ukrainian towns. Russia's missiles are what is causing that.
The net effect of sending more and more arms to Ukraine is the flattening of more and more Ukrainian towns
Maybe they're just sick? How do we know the invasion wasn't an accident? The Ukrainians should just be shooting to wound them.
I guess the net can be whatever you want depending on where you draw the total line. It is clear that which side of the war you are on.
I'm on the side that will result in the least dead and destruction. Here is a summary of how the war will go: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...wqsBegQIBxAF&usg=AOvVaw0XgN31gMtRig2-OSxuioY4
Why should Donbass be made neutral and independent? They all speak Russian. I suspect that if a referendum were conducted, the results would be the same as in Crimea in 2014.
