this SC will have no issue deciding one way for Christians and another for everyone else, they are not going by the law, they are activist judges

Nope, that's an invalid analogy and you know it.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Religion is wishy-washy like that. If they can show any kind of scriptural precedent for abortion in Judaism, they will have effectively made their case.

I don't believe Judaism supports human sacrifice. Maybe you are thinking of the Aztecs.

This is just the start of how legally messy this issue will become.

I can certainly see after a period of time, even if states choose to go after abortion, it will fizzle out and while the law may be on the books, few will actually exercise it.

The Pentagon stated it will allow abortions.

Jewish law is a lot more than the letter of the Torah.

    https://scholarlycommons.law.case.e...r=&httpsredir=1&article=4366&context=caselrev

This is the traditional Orthodox point of view. The congregation in the OP is obviously not Orthodox. Reform Jews have a more relaxed approach to Jewish law, but the same fundamental values apply.

Interesting you should ask. In the motherland (Israel), in order to get an abortion, said "menstruating person" must seek approval for an abortion through a termination committee. So.. maybe you're right, Guy. Maybe Florida should mimic that of the Israelis law and require approval of abortions through a termination committee.

The football coach wasn't KILLING an unborn baby. When YOU KILL AN UNBORN BABY, your argument that your religion requires it is not going to fly to a rational person or this Supreme Court. The ONLY argument that makes any kind of sense is life of the mother, rape, incest, birth defect or that the fetus is not human until born. If you open the door to killing babies in the name of your religion, you have also opened the door for conservatives to bar gays/transgender people from their businesses due their Christian faith.

Abortion is NOT a constitutional right. It is not protected. Amend the Constitution is your best way to get what you want. Good luck with that.

America is not based on Jewish law anymore than it is based on Islamic law. It is based on English Common Law and WASP culture. Not sure why you would think our country should give a damn about Jewish law in our country. Completely irrelevant.

A decent point. However, under the Constitution religions are not free to exercise their religion any way they choose.

Being pro-choice and Jewish, but still understanding life is still life...15 weeks is PLENTY of time to get things in order to make such a decision. If you don't even know or can't decide in 3 months...you certainly are not adult enough to be having sex in the first place and especially not fit to be a parent. Not sure you're fit to even be an adult;) And can anyone quote anything in the law that says if the mother is going to die or be irreputable harmed, she still can't have an abortion after 15 weeks? In ANY state if you show up at an ER pregnant, internally bleeding, and they determine that the mother is at risk and the baby is dying or going to die, the hospital will just let you lay there and die, saying whoops. Don't think ANY law is saying they can't perform an abortion to save the mother. Any life saving procedure is legal if it saves a life.

Soooo Jewish law says you can abort for the health of the mother.

The claim in the OP and by this group is that there are MULTIPLE reasons which Jewish law gives for abortion.

    Which is patently absurd.

Why would we have to amend the constitution? It was never intended to be a complete list of all our rights.

Can you please quote my exact words regarding the alleged opinion on how the Jewish law should be treated in your country?

I replied to a poster who asked about Jewish law, not about my opinion on the relationship between Jewish law and your country.

Yes, there are multiple reasons why a rabbi would permit or forbid an abortion.

    https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/abortion-in-jewish-thought/

Reform and Conservative rabbis are less strict than Orthodox rabbis. Support for legalized abortion is widespread among American Jews.

Dems are whining over these things. The flag was the Democrat flag and the statues are of democrats. Dems want to remove all these things so they can hide their shameful past.
