Not only were the Cubans allowed in, they were granted citizenships so they could vote, and they vote Republican. GOP would never win Florida without them, so I suppose the effort paid off.

A LOT of them are anchor babies. Anyone born to Cuban migrants is an anchor baby. I personally know quite a few Cuban anchor babies. Like anchor babies born to migrants from any nation, the kids speak English, while the parents typically do not. There are Cubans here who came here in the 1960s and don't speak any English. Obviously they can't walk on water, so they come in boats and rafts. Duh.

Keep in mind that truckfuls of dead migrants being smuggled have been found for many years. This event is not unique.

Biden is a traitor for what he's encouraging at the border, but this is not the first time suffocated immigrants have been discovered in the back of a semi truck.

They know the risks, but they are willing to try. Illegal immigration peaked in the 1980s (Trump said it was even worse when he was in office, but who knows), and even back then these things happened. The June heat in those areas is merciless.

 

Sorry, but an unpleasant life is not reason for ASYLUM. Cubans actually had a legal and generally legit claim at the time. I still don't agree with it, but it happened. Economic hardship to the south of us are NOT a reason. By those standards, anyone living anywhere in the US can ask for tax payers to pay for their moving expenses to go someplace nicer. Why are we paying to ship ILLEGALS around the country, but a citizen living in a slum somewhere shouldn't get a free ticket to Martha's Vinyard?? Why not? Because its stupid!!
