My tomatoes were hot when we got them. I thought I was gonna harvest tomato sauce. Finally got some tomatoes that work for me. Maybe make some tomato juice for later. Also got corn and watermelon coming on. Cucumber not doing well. Probably needs water.

Why I decided on a bike like this instead of a street bike.... It might not be the best bike for highway speeds it extended distances but that's not what I was looking for.

I can take it to spots like this where I'm now sitting and all I can hear is the cows and the mosquitoes buzzing in my ears.

Took my girlfriend back in here yesterday for her first ride ever on the bike. This road is not terribly often traveled as it is a service road for some of the houses back in here deep in the woods and the cattle pasture. Just around the bend the grass is about 3 ft tall but this is only about a mile from my house as the crow flies

Try bringing a Harley-Davidson or a crotch rocket back in here and you better go about 8 mile an hour and be ready to pick up the bike when you drop it. This being about the best section of the entire road Network. Lots of it is rather swampy and muddy.

That's why you get a dirt bike.... To do dirt bike type of things!

My corn is anorexic. Not gonna do much. Had a good potato harvest though for nor more than I planted at least (seed potatoes were hard to find this year early on). My cukes are still promising. Several on vines but nothing ripe yet. I planted them in pots and put them on top a tool shed to keep deer off them. I have to water them a LOT that way. My tomatoes---well legions of green ones but they have been on the vine well long enough that they should already be ripening. Harvested a few egg plants already. First Zukes will be ready in next week or so. First planting of green beans swallowed by crabcrass. Second planting has good full plants but no beans yet. A few erratic hot peppers so far and a yellow sweet one that should be ready to eat by the 4th of July.

I have been more focused on landscaping than growing veg this year. Not sure why. Guess because pickens were so slim in the garden section last few years due to COVID.

20220629_181100.jpg I am using creeping phlox for an area I no longer wish to mow. I am rooting the cuttings and planting the plugs. Working on my second thousand plants. I have pink, red, and candy stripe. Should look good when finished.

My wife and I took a motorcycle trip through Florida once. I thought I was going to burn up. No shade anywhere that we could use. It was fun though.

It's fine as long as you're not in a big city constantly stuck at traffic lights. There are some nice back roads you can find that have canopies of great live oaks especially up around North Florida

Some big city experience can be fun. I had 800cc and I really enjoyed tunnels and bridges. I had the power to keep up and my wife had a 750 Honda. I enjoyed the Blue Ridge Parkway better. Rode the Dragon.

I have a brand new Kawasaki KLX 230 dual sport bike it just turned over 400 miles on the odometer today.

It's my first bike ever so I went fairly light and I also wanted a short wheelbase to be able to fit into my minivan with a handicap ramp in the back.

It has a top speed of 77 mph though it's not fully broken in for 600 miles so I haven't really dogged it but I can get up to 60 miles per hour pretty quick on it. It's a 6-speed and weighs just under 300 lb.

I told my friend there's a Harley Sportster for sale in the paper for pretty cheap.

He said don't get that because real Harley riders will call you a girl and laugh at you.

I said but it's 883 cc's..... What about my bike it's only at 230 cc.... Does that mean my bikes a little kids bike.... He answered in the affirmative and I flicked him off.

I told him oh yeah? Told him I can talk all the smack I want to a Harley Rider and get on my bike and haul ass 40 mph down a dirt road.... ( Probably a good deal faster but 40 is fast enough for me on a dirt road) Let's see a Harley Rider do that trick! Hardly rideables.... Good luck going even 10 mile an hour down a dirt road

Why do folks come in a store and ask how much some random ass item costs?

Do I really look like some random Price list encyclopedia of several hundred items?

Finally rained it bit, more than enough to wet the dust.

You know what the best bike in the world is?.......

The one you're riding! I ahve an old Harley.. it's in the bodega awaiting repairs.. or my need to ride it, I'd sell it, all my bike riding buddies are gone, but I couldn't get much for it. I keep insurance on it (it's cheap) but haven't tagged it in years, I'll never go further that the river road and here I know all the cops.
