I can't find any evidence that headline is any less misleading than your topic title.

It's simply a poll. Nothing in the bill states that answers are required, nor, are any penalties against students discussed. The claim in the topic title is a fabrication.
Exactly. They will be polled. In our society polls are conducted continuously.

What this topic claims and now you do as well, is that FL is compelling speech, which is unconstitutional. Though, thankfully, the charge is yet another fabrication by some folks on the left who are scared to death of Ron II.

Compelled Speech | The First Amendment Encyclopedia
"Thus, the First Amendment not only limits the government from punishing a person for his speech, it also prevents the government from punishing a person for refusing to articulate, advocate, or adhere to the government's approved messages. West Virginia State Board of Education is the classic compelled speech case."

The sources pushing this fake news crap are either idiots, or confident that their audience are. PJ Media would never stoop to disinformation such as this.

    Time For Ron II!

    under penalty of losing funding

DeSantis wants to know how you vote and how your children will vote

and will use this info to either fund or defund your schools

Beating up the opposition, often to death, was indeed a Brown Shirt tactic.
Has DeSantis or any other official advocated that tactic? Please provide a link.

Why do you think they’re asking for personal information on professors political beliefs? Also:

Current and former Proud Boys not only serve on the Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee “seeking to influence local politics from the inside,” the national newspaper reports, but have sought public office.

I can understand your concerns but the political beliefs of most professors are well known -- they are rarely shy about sharing their views. Has anyone advocated attacking them or actually attacked them?

Ty for the link. Have the Proud Boys ever been caught actually starting a fight?

Given the current public dissatisfaction with the education system this will be considered a popular reform. DeSantis is a very shrewd politician.

Of course, IMO it would be better to simply transfer control of all government funding of education to the parents and guardians of minor children or to adult students. Too easy. Too cheap. ;-)

    Good question.
Is there a need for diversity just for diversity's sake? No, not really. But if say, a body is making decisions that involves people of diverse backgrounds or view points, then those people will want their views considered and to do that they will need diverse decision makers. History has shown when decisions are made without diverse input the needs of, usually the minority, are not met. The CMT (Country Music Channel) may not have any people of color on their board and POC are not complaining that they want representation. BET has a specific Black audience and their audience and members of other races are not protesting the lack of diversity. Are Anglos mad they are not on the board of Telemundo? Diversity for diversity's sake is not a reason to diversify.

oh, I am sure in a republican state, attacking those that have different political views is popular

Or rather, let the far right decide what is the best healthcare and education needs are. Science is not their best subject.

Just goes to show what we are up against. They know they are supporting criminals and they don't care.

This isn't political. The country is under attack by a mob boss and his private army.

If only one viewpoint is being taught in colleges that taxpayers fund don't you think taxpayers have a right to know how their money is being spent? Nothing about the bill is demanding that certain viewpoints be taught. Only that a variety of viewpoints are available. That's scary to you?

what does that have to do with the students political beliefs?

you think if the majority of students were liberal, the school should get less funding?

Fair enough but I’ll ask again.

Can you name one instance… just ONE instance… where diversity was demanded when whites weren’t the majority?

And if you can’t then on what grounds can you or ANYONE ELSE argue that diversity is anything other than a code word to obfuscate the intention for less whites and more of everything else?
