I saw a headline today that Hillary Clinton might run for President in 2024. Has it been enough time that has passed, since her last scandals, and has she wandered around the wilderness, like Moses, for long enough that you would consider Hillary Clinton for President in 2024? Especially if you consider that Biden's approval rating is so low that almost anyone would do better than Biden in the next presidential election?
Hillary '24 Ain't Gonna Happen... A Less Likely Event than the World Ending before I hit "Post Reply"...
Since she has been out of the public eye the Clinton Crime Foundation has been lacking funds. I am sure some pay to play agreements like Biden had would help here out alot.
Since when do you listen to CNN? This is clearly just empty speculation; and if Hillary is foolish/ambitious/conceited enough to run again, I strongly doubt, she would win the Democratic Primary. Not only does she have her age as a detracting factor, but most importantly are 1) her having lost to Trump once, already (if we presume Trump as the GOP candidate); and 2) her being one of the most divisive personages, most distrusted by Republicans and others, that the Dems could field-- is AOC going to be her running mate? I guess nothing is impossible, but this seems an exorbitant longshot, to be worried, or even thinking, about, at this juncture. Besides, 2 1/2 years is plenty of time for Joe to turn around his poll numbers. Remember, nothing is impossible.
If the Democrats are dumb enough to run her, that's their problem. They should be looking for a fresh young face. A generational change.
Cue MSNBC, to join the party, by next floating Michelle Obama's name, once again. Then BRAVO Network, leaks that Oprah is considering taking the plunge... or perhaps it is Lady Gaga, they see, throwing her hat in the ring (just imagine, at the Convention, everyone holding their breath, to see if Gaga can offer some accomodation, to secure the endorsement of Dua Lipa). MTV News (do they still have that?) goes old school, quoting "people close to Madonna," saying that she has been giving a White House bid, serious consideration. And Megan Thee Stallion, announces her own entry into the 2024 race, on BET, then goes into an epic twerking display. Almost makes me wish that Angela Merkel was allowed to run.
When I saw the thread, I figured Hilla turned 2024 today! I was gonna wish her a happy birthday! Man, she don't look a day over three thousand!
Wait, what? Doesn't the nomination usually go the VP if the president is unable or unwilling to run? Are Democrats going to dump the younger black VP for the old white former SecState?
I’m a swing voter, certainly not a Democrat, so whoever they choose is entirely up to them. But if I could choose the Democratic nominee or ticket for 2024, I’d go with Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth and as VP, John Fetterman if he wins the PA senate seat this November. I always liked Duckworth, a spunky vet. Fetterman is an unconventional politician, I also like that. I sure wouldn’t go with nor vote for Clinton, Warren or Harris. I’m choosy or picky and perhaps a bit finicky. Time to drop these old foggies, time for the younger generation to come forward.
Your political journey is fascinating but not unprecedented. Never Trumpers who presented themselves as conservative but by 2022 are indistinguishable from left Democrats. Bill Kristol and Jennifer Rubin come to mind.
I don't think she ever registered any significant support in the primaries the last time and she isn't very popular and Biden's coattails.....well that won't get you any votes.
Trump to me acted and behaved much more like a 4-year-old spoiled brat with his name calling and throwing of temper tantrums along with his 3rd grade schoolyard bullying tactics than the occupant of the White House. He was one obnoxious, rude uncouth individual to put it mildly. It’s this persona that lost him the 2020 election, not his policies. I just couldn’t stand a 75-year-old man who acted and behaved like he hadn’t entered kindergarten yet. I’m a swing voter, not a Republican nor a Democrat, I go back and forth and more than a few times vote for third party candidates and independents when I dislike both major party candidates. It is Trump himself I consider the real RINO. The 7-time party switcher had always adopted whichever party he belonged to at the time their political ideology and philosophy. I don’t think he has one of his own. He certainly isn’t a conservative in the traditional Barry Goldwater mode or even the Reagan one. I don’t profess to be anything, conservative, liberal or whatever. I’ve always made up my mind one issue at a time according to how I saw them. I never waited for a political party to tell me what to think, who to vote for, which issues to support or oppose. I am a free thinker, not a political party mindless robot. If you want to compare me to Bill Kristol that’s fine. I don’t have the faintest idea of who Jennifer Rubin is.
Did you mean THIS? She's tanned, rested, and ready! Go, Hillary! Arise, thou ponderous mass of cellulite, go forth and conquer!
2016 was a fluke, back then we thought the right would never vote for someone as immoral as Trump... we now know we were wrong
I agree, the last thing most Americans want is another Trump vs. Clinton matchup. That just goes to show you how dumb and out of touch both parties are with America as a whole. No wonder both major parties are shrinking and independents rising.
Just a swing voter who doesn't like Trump, but is okay with about everyone else. Not all, but about. I'm not alone among swing voters, 58% of swing voters have an unfavorable view of Trump which includes 20% of conservatives and 69% of moderates. Now 57% of swing voters view the Republican Party unfavorably, 62% of swing voters view the Democratic Party unfavorably. Bottom line, we don't like either party. Makes sense since we don't belong to either one. Most of us view the two major parties as a pox on our political system. https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/uhxw71f4tf/econTabReport.pdf
