If someone is threatening to shoot up a crowd and commit mass murderer, it may warrant and investigation which would have to be weighed with their 4th.

That's not what I said at all.

 

You were talking about Austin. In one year they cut a third of their budget. This resulted in a ton of police officers being laid off and the cancellation of three cadet classes and they never refilled those positions. That money is forever lost and the city didn't add a surplus to fix the deficit they took. It's a major setback for law enforcement in the city and they're still feeling the pain from it as the violent crime rate continues to climb.

Defunding the police was an inexcusable scapegoating of law enforcement at the detriment of violent crime in the community. It is well known that less law enforcement equals more crime and more unsolved crime. By supporting these actions the left was complicit in this.
