Looks like the dems can't distract from such a miserable economy. Democrats have crashed the economy and the "Jan 6" circus is not enough to swing things back in their favor.

The proof is in the pudding.

Can the dems double down and change things?

I doubt it. Most Americans are affected by this lousy economy.

Let's see if Trump's big mouth can change that in time...

Obviously voters are paying more attention to what they are seeing (economically), than what they are hearing from politicians. That typically translates into how they vote.

Dems better get China to unleash another home cooked virus. Worked wonders for them the last time they needed a campaign from the basement win

The economy is indeed one of the largest factors for many voters and the vacant and intellectually dishonest argument that it isn’t happening all over the world does seem to play out very effectively with low/no information voters.

I have yet to see any policy positions from Republicans that would address this though beside tax cuts (which will likely expand inflation) and drill more (which ignores both the refining process, the will of industry CEO’s that have said they have little intention to expand, and where our oil goes)

If Republicans don’t overtake the house by 20+ seats and the Senate by 8+ seats seeing where Biden is polling I will be interested to see what the 2024 election and beyond will look like.

The House they will get 20+

Their loyalty to Trump will cost them gaining in the Senate

That is a red herring. What has Biden and the democrats done for the American people lately. That is all that will matter in November.

Just because Fox tells you that doesn't make it true. If you think it's true, go ahead and make your case.

    In what way?

    Empowering the Taliban?
Dividing the nation with racist policies?
    Recession?
    Higher cost of living?
    Incentivizeing Russia to attack Ukraine?
Embarrassing us to the world by looking weak and feeble/confused.

Please...tell me what was the win here?

My name is toughtalk and my pronouns are lord and all mighty and I am wearing purple underwear.

The Dems can double down on the stupid that's crashed the country and economy but that's about it.

I was wondering if this November's bloodletting would be as bad as 2010 and 30 seats is about half as bad...

When it comes to the economy, the GOP generally have the edge. However, what can really screw up the GOP is the fact that most of the House GOP voted against the PACT Act and have stated they are against allowing abortion in this country under national law, even at 15 or 18 weeks.

That being said, I don't think the GOP will win the house as big as they might think. I think it will be 6 or 8 seats. And that puts the Freedom Caucus in Control to dictate who the next speaker will be. And no, it won't be trump. They will demand certain things for a vote for McCarthy.

No, I say that Republicans are doing their best to dumb down America. It is their policies that attack teachers and school boards.
It is Democrats that make policies for people and Republicans that make policies for corporations.
